That isn’t stopping BHCC from wanting to hand $100,000 to Stepping Stones at the YWCA.

Of course the financial statements aren’t current, reports associated with any level of government never are. But since that is the only information available, somebody should look at it before giving away taxpayer dollars. BHCC money comes from part of the increased Sales Tax rate both Bloomington and Normal inflicted beginning 1/1/2016.
PDF page 4 shows investments of $2,521,141. It also shows an interest of $2,249,574 in the YWCA Foundation.

Is the County Board going to ask questions first? Do they really need the $100,000 or do they just not want to spend their own money? Is the money being given so the County has supervision of their programming?

I wonder if the writer noticed the spending of the almost $27,200,000 listed doesn’t come close to that total. Only government could spend $30 million on a database. Where’s the other $15 million? It’s even higher since these numbers are as of 2022.
YWCA of McLean County has a history of supporting far leftist political policy locally and nationally. A significant amount of supervisory hires were leftists. Supervises were not shy about posting leftist political drivel on bulletin boards or hanging political posters at their work places. I was a pt cleanup guy back in the day after hours. Many of the female hires were raving political lunatics. Pro- abortion support was always front and center as well as quotations from Howard Zinn, Dolores Huerta and other communists.
I remember them several years ago changing from their Christian background which had been a big part of how they functioned for years they went away from it because Muslim women were offended.
If I remember correctly the sign out front was changed.
I suggested then that they could start their own club YWMA ,YOUNG WOMENS MUSLIM ASSOOCIATION
But that obviously was unacceptable welcome to the world of left liberals all it takes is for one person to be offended and the world has to change
YWCA is a leftist political organization hiding behind the mask of social services.
They have no right to ask for public taxpayer money any more than a bowling alley or any other private entity.
Their facebook page posts show clearly who they are and the extremist political views they hold. If they need the money they should raise it through private donations or a loan just like any other private business has to do.
100k of public money so they can keep one of their radical progressive friends on the payroll.
Please just say NO.
Contact the county board, vote is tomorrow
