I mentioned in this story a reader told me he/she witnessed an electric Connect Transit bus being towed: https://blnnews.com/2024/03/04/two-things-i-wish-i-had-pics-of/
It turns out it wasn’t an electric bus. Obtained by FOIA:

Connect Transit is forced to use OLD buses because the new electric fleet is junk. In case you can’t read that email, the towed bus was a 2010. The engine died. The towing bill was $165. I asked how many riders were on the bus, I didn’t receive an answer. Can we assume zero?
I also asked how many electric buses are being used. As of March 1st:
2 of the 12
The Board who wasted your money hasn’t resigned. They haven’t even mentioned the electric bus problems in an open meeting. Since they were appointed by the current mayors, you might want to vote in early 2025 when mayors are up for election.
Carry on however, it’s only your money being wasted. Your government doesn’t care because it happens all the time.

Its not just Bloomington-Normal with empty buses circling the city. Try Galesburg. Incredible waste of tax dollars. Vote the spendthrifts out.
That would be all democrats and most republicans
