March to the Capitol
Meet at 9:30 AM at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC

Why the March to preserve American jobs for American workers?

We believe it is high time that members of Congress act to preserve economic opportunity for American workers – and pass immigration legislation that protects and supports the nearly 22 million American citizens who do not have jobs, or cannot find adequate employment to support their families.

Economists report that labor participation in the U.S. is at its lowest rate in over 30 years. Yet, despite these sluggish economic conditions, some in Congress have put forth immigration proposals to increase legal immigration levels by 50% and provide amnesty to over 11 million people who have entered the country illegally. We stand against these proposals, as they will result in adding millions more to the U.S. labor force, putting millions of American citizens out of work.

Over 22 million Americans are currently out of work or underemployed. All wage sectors, including low-skilled and high-skilled jobs are at risk from this legislation as big business asserts the need for more cheap laborers to do those mythical jobs “Americans won’t do.” Research continues to debunk this myth. As the Economic Policy Institute’srecent report reveals, there is not a talent shortage, but a jobs shortage.

If passed, the Gang of Eight’s proposed immigration bill will be costly for all Americans, but will harm black American workers more than any other group. Mass immigration and amnesty puts those poorest Americans from all walks of life out of work and suppresses wages, causing them to compete with aliens willing to work in poorer working conditions for cheaper pay.

When 22 million Americans are either out of work or unemployed, now is no time to further over-saturate the labor force with increased immigration levels and amnesty. If Congress doesn’t stop this irresponsible legislation, the United States will continue to see more and more Americans of all races out of jobs and on the streets.

To help stop Congress’ amnesty push, join the Black American Leadership Alliance for our march on Washington on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Freedom Plaza, as we demand that our leaders reject amnesty, enforce immigration laws as written, and support policies that put black U.S. citizens back to work.

  1. I will do all I can to be there at 9am promptly. This is too important to miss. Our citizens depend on our country and citizens come first. This is not the time to allow over 11 million to the payroll. This is our country, we will not hand it to anyone who comes here illegally.

  2. Congress is not listening to the American people, its ALL American Jobs , Black White Asian, anyone born here or who came legally My whole Dept lost our jobs to foreign born workers who came in and made nearly half of what we were getting, This was Black and White the foreign born who opened the company with us are still working but we were targeted because we were American Born and had 12 yrs of accumulated wages

  3. In Nevada , Arizona , and California ,English is becoming a 2nd lauguage we are losing our jobs, way of life, American Dream, wages are going down. the workplace is hostile because spainish is being spoken and nobody understands what each other is saying. If you speak English , you are made to feel like the outsider, like you are in some foreign country. All Legal immigrates from all parts of the world learn English only the spainish speakers refuse to learn and speak it in the workplace like everybody else and it creates a hostile work place A well spoken , well rounded , english speaking person cant get a job and this is discrimination againist American citizens who didnt do this. we didnt put ourself in this boat

  4. obama sucks— as you can see so does everyone of his policies. Tell we why then did blacks re-elect this scam artist? What is it going to take for all Americans to realize Obama has NO CLue as what to do. He is destroying our country INTENTIONALLY.
