18 months of torture with no apology

Start by reading this story: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2025-01-17/bloomington-couple-acquitted-for-felony-theft-by-deception

The Lacey’s mainly did infusions. Since I had no idea what that meant, I asked them yesterday. The infusions are customized for people like cancer patients where vitamins and minerals are needed to make them feel better. They don’t use any regulated drugs. They are both registered nurses.

The Jadeyn and Cassandra Lacey saga has numerous rabbit holes, most of which I will avoid for clarity. Both worked with a local plastic surgeon. The wife of fired Bloomington police officer Ty Carlton also worked with them. The trouble started when these 3 reported the doctor for what they saw as illegal and unethical behavior. The rest of the story is a rabbit hole!

The 3 ended up being investigated by the Bloomington police based on reports from other staff that worked for the doctor. I know from talking to the Lacey’s they only care about helping patients. No charges were ever filed against them in this case. The Bloomington police used this incident to fire a 22 year officer, see this story: https://blnnews.com/2024/11/02/whats-the-real-ty-carlton-story/

Ty Carlton did not know the Lacey’s before this incident, his wife did. It’s obvious he wouldn’t throw away his career for people he didn’t know. I think the “REAL” Ty story is closer to the truth.

The Bloomington police weren’t done with the Lacey’s though. The two opened a new infusion center with Blueze Wellness. This is where the WGLT story enters the picture. That relationship did not go well. The Blueze husband and wife team decided the Lacey’s were stealing from them and filed a police report even though revenue was never commingled.

I believe an officer connected to this case received a 1 day suspension for what isn’t much different than the justification used to fire Carlton. Maybe Chief Simington can explain the difference. Does having police department “friends” affect outcomes? Keep reading!

The Lacey’s were arrested based on an investigation by the Bloomington Police department. After their arrest they spent 36 hours in jail that also did not go well. That’s another rabbit hole that should be investigated.

This story has finally arrived at the trial!

The evidence against both Lacey’s was so bad their lawyer didn’t have to present a defense. The judge heard from the prosecution and issued a directed verdict declaring both not guilty.

The State’s Attorney’s Office tortured this couple for 18 months to bring a case with ZERO evidence?

Did the Bloomington police send the State’s Attorney a case with ZERO evidence and they prosecuted anyway?

Or, did witnesses lie to both and the truth finally come out in court?

The Lacey’s had proof of their innocence. Refer back to the 1 day suspension of the officer above. Was a real investigation stifled at the Bloomington Police Department?

I don’t know the answer to these questions but the Lacey’s have not received an apology from either the Police Department or the State’s Attorney. For 18 months their lives were put on hold which obviously affected their finances. The judge’s ruling is complete vindication for them. Maybe all parties should be expecting civil lawsuits.

This isn’t the first questionable justice case in McLean County. How many other people are abused by the local justice system? I don’t know the answer to that one either.

      1. But this is a great example of our rogue justice system, the same one that went after Trump. He said they would come after us just like him.

    1. 10 solid years of relentless, unfounded persecution, in addition to assassination attempts. His fortitude and perseverance is unbelievable. Thank heaven he is again our President.

  1. What a nightmare! I’m so thankful that:
    A. They at least are getting the truth out.
    B. Didn’t have a “special state prosecutor”. Because that would make it even worse.

  2. retaliation by Central Illinois “authority” figures and States Attys- seems to be common theme.

A shame as we pay taxes for that “service” and shady incentivized metrics model.

  3. I remember reading the wglt story.
So two different medical directors had the same experiences with this couple stealing from them? Hmmm!
I found that the one was recently arrested for retail theft and pled guilty to that charge. The other had her/his nursing license reprimanded (2021) for gross negligence in another state (CA), plus ripping off 2 local doctors yet they wonder why they can’t find nursing jobs?!? It makes me wonder what else could be found out if someone were really interested.
I know one thing, their current employer(s) should be doing inventory inspections to see how much they’re stealing from them! I mean, once a thief, always a thief.
Certain search engines can be wonderful tools if known about and used. What a lackluster job of research from both authors considering that it took me all of 2 minutes on a search engine to find this.
Respectfully, there are obviously a few non truths to your story Ms. Benjamin. I’m interested in whether you’re going to dig a little deeper to show the real truth or you’re going to just let this ride. I’d help you out more but I don’t want to.

    1. I know I’m late to this post but as someone who was in a relationship with Jadeyn for multiple years I can promise you there is more to this story. He lies about everything in his life. He cheated on his wife with me (I’m also his high school girlfriend, he told me they got divorced) He straight up admitted to me that him and his wife committed insurance fraud on a trailer that they used to own because they didn’t want to pay for it anymore. One of these days they will get their karma that is coming for them, also your username is making me laugh so hard because you obviously know exactly who he is 🤣

  4. Well this article is yet another example of our media resources that fails to fully vet their information and do their due diligence to dig for the truth – because this surely isn’t it. This is only another spewed piece in order to suit an agenda and divide the people…and to use the judicial decision as a valid reason to support these two scam artists, is laughable at best.

These 2 have been involved in multiple scams with multiple highly reputable doctors – these two lead a life far from maintaining any moral foundation and unfortunately this reporter didn’t care to put in the required efforts to report truth but rather slander the character of people who live their lives to serve and care for their communities.

I have known Chantel for nearly 37 years and she is one of the most honest and caring people I have ever known. For this article to bring a false accusation against such a stellar member of the community while simultaneously lifting up two criminals, isn’t shocking these days but I am praying for justice to prevail and redemption be upon the righteous.

  5. I was one of Jadeyn’s partners that was on the call that resulted in his negligence filing. We all decided to do the right thing and advocated for a patient who couldn’t advocate for themselves. Jadeyn and another peer won the lawsuit against our company and then the manager retaliated and reported us to the board. Jadeyn was the highest ranking person on that call and that is the only reason he got the mark. He could pay to have it removed from his record but I know he has chosen not to because he is proud of what we all did for that patient. Go read his reprimand that he hand wrote out. He stands by what he did and would do it again. We all stood together to protect this patient. Watching you guys try to tear him down over something you know nothing about is pathetic.

  6. Although I am currently restricted from sharing my personal experiences due to ongoing legal proceedings, I am heartened by the courage of these two nurses who are speaking out against corruption and abuse. Their commitment to exposing the truth is a testament to the integrity and moral conviction. As this story continues to unfold, I am optimistic that it will bring about a deeper understanding of the systemic issues at play and spark meaningful change. The bravery of these nurses and others coming forward will ultimately lead to a most just and accountable system. I applaud their selflessness and dedication to creating a better future for all involved.
