STORY BEHIND ILLINOIS’-GROWN BASKETBALL PLAYER MEYERS LEONARD

Great tearjerker video about basketball player Meyers Leonard that’s gone viral. Leonard, who now plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, played college basketball for University of Illinois. He was selected by Portland as the 11th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

The life lesson from Bailey, Meyers’ older Marine brother: “Getting through hardship only brings people closer together.” The Leonards were raised in Robinson, Illinois.
