The OLD GOP is finished!

Guest commentary:  Jerri Lee

In the last 35 years the GOP had only had 1 candidate who won the hearts and minds of the American people: Ronald Reagan.  In 1980 Reagan became President with 90.9% of the electoral vote.  In 1984 Reagan won every state except Minnesota and Washington DC.  He won 97.6% of the electoral vote.

Reagan was not the choice of the GOP.  They despised him.  Reagan took his case to the American people and won HUGE.  He left a massive blueprint for not only victory, but for Freedom and defense of the Constitution.  Obviously the GOP learned nothing and quickly reverted back to their progressive ways.  The GOP wants power and big government.  The Democrats want power and big government.  So, since there is no difference between the parties, the GOP has completely marginalized themselves.

For those who didn’t experience President Reagan or if you forgot, read some Reagan quotes:

If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.

We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.

We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.

I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the US Congress.

Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.

Man is not free unless government is limited.

Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.

Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

There are no easy answers’ but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.

Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15.

I’ve never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a ‘fat cat’ and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a ‘public-spirited philanthropist’.

People do not make wars; governments do.

His words are still applicable.  Reagan wasn’t afraid to speak about God.  He knew our rights come from God.  Reagan knew the role of government as defined in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, protector of liberty.  He saw his responsibility as head cheerleader for the country.  As Ronald Reagan emphasized, America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere.

Reagan never had a Republican Congress:

CONGRESSIONAL MAKEUP DURING REAGAN YEARS
97th Congress (1981-1983)

Senate: 53(R); 46(D); 1(other)

House: 242(D); 189(R)

98th Congress (1983-1985)
Senate: 54(R); 46(D)
House: 268(D); 167(R)

99th Congress (1985-1987)
Senate: 53(R); 47 (D)
House: 253 (D); 182(R)

100th Congress (1987-1989)
Senate: 55(D); 45(R)
House: 258 (D); 177 (R)

Of course he wasn’t perfect.  Spending did increase during his term,  but then Democrats had control of the purse strings during his entire 8 years.  He granted amnesty to illegal aliens with the promise of border control that never happened.  What he did accomplish is making Americans proud to be Americans.  After 4 disastrous years of Jimmy Carter, the citizens needed to be inspired. Reagan did just that.

Today we have John McCain and Lindsay Graham trying to get us into yet another war.  We have John Boehner purging the House leadership of anybody conservative.  We have Mitch McConnell who has difficulty putting a sentence together.  We have Carl Rove raising money to defeat conservatives across the nation.

On the other hand, we have conservative voices rising.  When Sarah Palin is viciously attacked by Democrats and the GOP, you can bet she understands the Reagan philosophy.  The same goes for Ted Cruz, Louie Gomert, Mike Lee, Trey Gowdy, Rand Paul, Michelle Bachmann and many others.  They are easy to spot:  They speak in plain English.  Media hates them.  Politicians from both sides despise them, the people who listen to them love them.  It doesn’t matter what party they identify with, the people want politicians who don’t double-speak every issue.

The American people still identify with politicians who inspire, just as they did with Reagan.  They understand right and wrong and realize both political parties are on the wrong track.  The future of America belongs to conservatives who follow in the footsteps of Reagan.  The GOP will be forced out of the way before we are “A Nation Gone Under”, if we aren’t already.

  1. Yes! We sure do miss the great Gipper! I was hoping that we could have another great leader like President Reagan and get back to those golden years of Reagan BUT with these left-wing Progressives (Communists) and the right-wing Rinos that are working overtime to destroy our Freedoms and Liberties by targeting our Constitution and American Heritage that looks impossible. Recently Michele Bachmann has warned that if this immigration bill is passed we will probably never see another Republican President. In an interview with World Net Daily this week, Bachmann predicted that if the immigration bill becomes law, “the whole political system will change.” “This is President Obama’s number one political agenda item because he knows we will never again have a Republican president, ever, if amnesty goes into effect. We will perpetually have a progressive, liberal president, probably a Democrat, and we will probably see the House of Representatives go into Democrat hands and the Senate will stay in Democrat hands,” Bachmann said. She also said that if it passes, the bill will create a permanent progressive class. “That’s what’s at risk right now. It may sound melodramatic, I don’t mean it that way, but this is that big and that important,” Bachmann said.
Our country is being sabotaged and destroyed deliberately from within!

President Reagan warned US about this kind of treason:
