Bloomington: Piggy Bank Alert

by:  Diane Benjamin

Not only is buying the property south of the library for $250,000 on the agenda for the Monday City Council meeting, there’s more!

One of their SECRET MEETINGS (Executive Session) is scheduled for 5:45.

Guess what the topic is:

secret2 What does it take to stop the spending?  A hotly contested budget was just passed in April that spent a lot more money than last year.  Now Bloomington is on a buying spree?  Too bad they aren’t spending their own money – they are robbing YOU.

Next year the pension payment goes up again.  The 3 taxes they raised are not going to cover them.  Yet the spending continues and continues and continues.  Budgets evidently no longer matter.

City elections next year will not be kind to the potted plants.

Got your flamingo?
