What the $750,000 Brady grant vote REALLY meant last night

By:  Diane Benjamin

Pretty much everybody understands that Sen Bill Brady wanted to funnel money through the City of Bloomington to benefit Central Catholic.  We do live in Illinois after all.  Citizens may be real conservatives, politicians not so much.  It looks like Brady rolled up his play mat and went home after the Council reversed their first vote on buying 4 acres with his money.

Not to be detoured, Mayor Tari tried to bypass Brady and get the money directly from Springfield.  Even after the GOP Caucus asked Springfield to put a hold on the grant, and Springfield reportedly then cancelled the grant, Renner isn’t stopping.

The Council voted last night on their wish list for how to spend the money.  Alderwoman Stearns didn’t vote because voting on non-existent spending isn’t part of the job.

Renner and Hales can now walk their proposal to Springfield and/or Brady.  When they DON’T get the money – Renner can publicly vilify Brady for not sharing his toys.

No adults have been involved from the beginning – at least none that care about the people who had money stolen from them by the State of Illinois so legislators can hand out Christmas presents.  Renner continues to be the child blaming everybody else when he could have sat down with Brady and had an adult discussion instead of going around him.

I think Renner will find out SENATOR trumps mayor.  The local compliant media will still air his grievance against Brady, so he is hoping to pull out a win whether he gets the money or not.

Citizens aren’t that dumb though Tari.
