Tari can’t help himself. He hates people who disagree with him. They are targets that he must marginalize. Holding opposing opinions is not allowed in TariVille. The potted plants on the Council happily comply. David Hales happily complies-his fat pension is at stake.
Renner signed the Not In Our Town Pledge:
I share the Not In Our Town commitment to stop hate, address bullying, and build a safe, inclusive community.
Do the Not In Our Town people hold classes on what the pledge means?
Does the pledge only apply to us peons?
Do Liberal Democratic Mayors who violate the pledge OVER and OVER and OVER get a pass?
Do you feel guilty about something Tari? You can’t even announce news you think is good without bullying people who don’t agree with you?
Tari wrote the following email to the people listed. HE then forwarded it to a citizen who doesn’t agree with much of what he says. Why Tari? Isn’t that childish – especially when you use the language I highlighted?

Subject: Bloomington has the lowest unemployment rate of any metro Illinois city
Dear Colleagues,
I wanted to let you know of more good news for our wonderful city – the latest figures confirm and multiple press stories are following – that Bloomington has the lowest unemployment rate of any metro city in Illinois! This is great news on top of the improvement in our transparency score! Sometimes it’s easy to get distracted by the very few loud, nasty and negative voices in our city but, we can be very proud of our city and the many many great things that are happening in our community and city government. I thank you for your wonderful work on our city’s behalf. We can, and will, continue to make progress in economic development and job creation for the future!
Best,
Tari Renner
Mayor of Bloomington
109 E. Olive
Bloomington, IL 61701
Evidently Tari needs more than Not In Our Town classes on complying with the pledge, he needs decorum training for an elected mayor. Tari complains about the vitriol in Washington DC, then creates his own version locally. Very unbecoming Tari, who are your mentors?
.
Maybe Tari can check with the Economics Department and see who REALLY creates Economic Development and Jobs. (Hint Tari: If government does the creating, they have to STEAL money from some citizens in order to hand it to others.)
It is good news. But what exact policy did Mayor Renner and staff carry out to make this possible? I think the Mayor is unfortunately mistaking criticism of David Hales, and himself as criticism of the entire city at large. Nothing can be further from the truth. I love living in Bloomington and I think it’s a great place to live and I want to keep it that way which is why I oppose some of the things Mayor Renner supports.
According to the ‘Not in Our Town’ working group page the Bloomington group was formed in 1996 in response to a sudden rash of racist church fires in the south. But is that assertion true? If you read the book titled ‘Disinformation’ by Lt General Ion Mihai Pacepa the highest ranking KGB official to ever defect to United States on Page One of the prelude he touts the so called rash of church fires in the south as a very successful anti United States smear campaign brought to our shores from Russian intelligence. In March 1996 the National Council of Churches held a press conference to announce a huge increase in the number of arsons of southern black churches. In June of that year President Clinton jumped on board and denounced the rash of fires and proposed a federal task force. The story appealed to people’s emotions and spread like wildfire. But than the real facts came to life. The National Fire Prevention Association announced there had actually been far fewer church fires on the south than usual and law enforcement could not CONFIRM any being racially motivated. Although President Clinton himself stated how he had painful memories of church burnings in Arkansas as a child there was no reported church burnings on record in Arkansas from Clintons childhood. According to Lt General Ian
Mohai Pacepa this wAs a successful organized Russian intelligence operation to smear the United States as a racist country to the rest of the world. If the General is correct than BloomingtonS Not in Our Town was founded on a lie and although with good intent helped promote a smear campaign against the United States while serving as what Lenin would have called ‘ Useful Idiots.’ Something to think about.
As an elected official, the man is an embarrassment to this city. Can anyone think of any other elected officials in B-N that even comes close to this dudes childish rantings? Already “the worst mayor ever” is his legacy.
Do you think that perhaps Tari Renner has Narcissistic Personality Disorder? His repeated behaviors are starting to appear to be outside the “normal” range.
Do facts matter?
Bloomington in not “metro”
Bloomington has had the highest job loss in Illinois
Bloomington does not have the lowest unemployment rate in Illinois.

I asked Tari about the 1000 jobs lost – he claims it’s demographics, more people retiring. I asked him why there aren’t 1000 job opening. No answer.
