Renner’s story – Pantagraph

By:  Diane Benjamin

A reporter from the Pantagraph called for a comment on Tari Renner’s post last night.

According to her, Renner claimed his son called late last night (Renner was asleep) all upset that I was going after him.  See previous post:  http://blnnews.com/2015/02/11/tari-attacks-me-again-not-in-our-town/

Maybe Renner and his son can explain this Tweet from Brexton Issacs last night when the IWU Ward 4 debate ended:

brex2  Unless he deletes it – it can be found here:  https://twitter.com/search?q=blonoscandal&src=typd

Who is telling the truth Bloomington?

  1. The tweet is gone, but not surprising considering the source. He has learned early on to delete things and not be a grown-up and at least stand by what he said.

  2. Wow, all this over just mentioning that Brexton is a friend of Tari’s son. Tsk Tsk. “Lil Bull” Brex was a monitor at last night debate. Hmmmnnnnnnn, and it’s just a coincidence the OTHER TWO CANDIDATES were not invited to attend? I think not!! ( psssst Tari, you’re mamma wears combat boots!!!)

    1. The other two candidates were invited. I unfortunately they notified the moderators they would not be participating.

    1. I’ve seen the little twerp around. Short little guy. Just like his tiny, liberal-washed brain. Those IWU hacks are turning those kids into drones for the democraps. Shame.

      1. Not that it matters anymore than his stature but twerp is a poor adjective. Tari is an avid bodybuilder. Also IWU hardly turns out liberal drones. I am an alum and a majority of my friends were conservative and continue to be even after graduation. You’re just as guilty of name calling as the man you’re rallying against.

  3. Seems to me that Mr. Isaacs is a product of left wing groupthink. His nicely formed worldview is coming into contact with reality for the first time. I hope he emerges from this with a healthy skepticism of ALL people who claim to know what is best for people other than themselves.

  4. Well, Tari gave his “apology” on the ISU Radio station. Hmm, you would think if he was really sincere and would want to apologize, he would be posting his apologizing right HERE in the BLN NEWs to the Editor, Diane Benjamin. Sorry, Tari, the fact of the matter is, your true self came out. No one attacked your son. No reasonable person could conclude that. He was just mentioned as a friend of Braxton, you know, the student you used to take swipes at a sitting public official. Not one bad word was said against your son, whom by the way is a college student and not a juvenile. So your apology rings hollow Renner. Here is the link for those who want to hear Tari and give his creative excuse for his attack on Diane: http://wglt.org/wireready/news/2015/02/06464_renner_remarks_174241.shtml

    1. I agree it is very clear no one attacked his son. He is grabbing at anything he can to try to justify his unjustifiable behavior.

  5. “New scandal for the crazy conservatives….”

Sad… how believing in transparency, fiscal responsibility, and sound government is perceived to be a mental illness by children with SAT’s high enough to get into Wesleyan. It isn’t too surprising as I have yet to meet a ‘progressive’ (of ANY age) who can articulate an argument based on reason or facts to advance any of their nonsense.

Taking the low road of “Marginalizing your opponent” is their default strategy.

    1. I have heard them articulate good arguments. However, once you research their assertions you realize so much of what they say simply Is not so.

    2. I consider myself progressive, and I am quite capable of expressing a logical position based on facts. I find it great sport to pick off ill-informed and unreasonable “conservatives” who use empty forests like this blog in desperate attempts to sound wise.

    3. I’d be happy to argue facts with you anytime you want. If a conservative leaders son had their name brought up in the context of cronyism this site would be defending any retaliation by said hypothetical leader. Not that the name calling was justified but neither was implying Brexton was coached into an statement . He is in fact roommates with Wesleyan’s President of College Republicans, he has political beliefs that differ from most people on this site and in speaking his mind at a city council meeting he is being considered a drone. Then the blogger that created this site deemed it necessary to involve the Mayor’s son as evidence of Brexton’s coaching from Tari. His response was over the top but so was insinuating via a friendship that Brexton was speaking directly for Mayor Renner.

  6. Is there anything in the city code like a presidential impeachment? Anything about conduct unbecoming a mayor?
