Kirk Brothers: conflict?

By:  Diane Benjamin

The City of Bloomington voted to buy property on North Main Street last night so they can control what happens there.

This is who owns the property now:

kirkllcIs Tim Kirk the same guy who contributed to Renner for Mayor in 2013: http://tinyurl.com/zmmbyhz

The addresses don’t match, but 1010 Old Farm Rd looks like his brother’s address:  http://mcleanil.devnetwedge.com/view/RE/21-12-251-007/2014

I wonder if that appraisal the City claims to be getting will be made public.

Isn’t property usually appraised before there is an agreement to buy it?

Now go back to my first story today and watch the video.  http://blnnews.com/2016/03/15/bloomington-taxpayers-liable/

Bill Walden clearly states why TIF’s are a bad idea.  This is one of them.

  1. In addition to that, we didn’t know at the time just how sinister Renner would be. I mean, I was even sort of campaigning with him because of the BPD endorsement.

      1. Really? You’ve never heard of Kirk Demolition/Henson Disposal? These firms are owned by the brothers — they do demolition and waste disposal. They regularly buy decrepit properties and demolish the structures to resell the land. They did the GTE/Verizon building, a building or two in the warehouse district, among others.
