Even though the City has 3 top Administrators now, according to the meeting documentation THEY requested this proclamation: https://legistarweb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/attachment/pdf/2392365/Health_for_Humanity_Yogathon_Day_Proclamation_2024.pdf
It recognizes the Health for Humanity Yogathon Organized by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA.
The event happened from January 13th – 28th. Definitely on top of everything with 3. 😉
Unlike Normal that only discusses the budget for ONE long day, Bloomington gave the first of 5 budget presentations last night. Of course it’s the biggest budget ever, it is every year. 20 minutes was allocated for discussion on spending $331.7 million.
As part of the water project that will triple your water rates, the City will build another Water Tower. Of course no one mentioned the one still standing in Normal that isn’t used.
Long time readers know the City has never budgeted enough money to fix the roads. That trend continues next year with only $10,000,000 budgeted for asphalt and concrete: streets and sidewalks.
Alderman Sheila Montney had the comment of the night – just hit play. Your roads will only get attention every 56 years.

oh but the water project staff/“analysts” retirement will be cushy
wackos
The Yoga proclamation was delayed from the Council meeting that was canceled in January due to the ice storm
So promoting religion at council is now okay?
Considering it started long before the cancelled meeting it still would have looked ridiculous
The practice of yoga supports health both physical and mental.
