Pablo and Tyrone are dead

By: Diane Benjamin

Both were memorialized on a Facebook page created by Bloomington Fire Department employees. This is not an official government page, just firefighters sick of cockroaches where they live while on duty.

They named the latest 2 Pablo and Tyrone:

Someone created this page because of an infestation, I’m sure these aren’t the only two. I know what Fire Station this is, but I’m not saying.

These guys deserve better where they live!

  1. You are certainly right they deserve better but if they are bringing food in boxes in they are more than likely bringing them in via boxes especially since the cock roaches appear to be adults.

  2. sorry wasn’t placing blame just giving an example of how the roaches are getting in however the fire department officials certainly need to step up and insure that the firefighters have a bug free environment

  3. Sad that this is even happening. One thing is strict cleanliness of all surfaces.

But definitely this building is a human hazard. Gross. They can take these guys home with them to their families.

Probably need to fog the entire building.

  4. Can arrive via donated products and thrive in any environment. Very hard to exterminate.

I’d recommend exiting the kitchen entirely, making an outside kitchen temporarily and treating the entire building. Requiring everything be placed in Rubbermaid storage containers. Steam table installed for sanitation of future cookware. Daily bleach or mister clean mop and clean.

We had barracks like this in Louisiana, everything got infested. It was miserable. They get in the walls, ceiling, bed frames, bathroom storage, laundry rooms, shoes. When it rained, they scampered everywhere.
