This is a link to a 52 page report on electricity nationwide: https://www.nerc.com/pa/RAPA/ra/Reliability%20Assessments%20DL/NERC_SRA_2024.pdf
If you need a nap, try reading it.
Jump to page 51. Illinois is in PJM (reference PDF page 27).
Both wind and solar are underperforming, see ACTUAL vs. EXPECTED. Forced outages in PJM are second only to Quebec.
Gov. Pritzker wants 1,000,000 electric vehicles on Illinois roads by 2030. https://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/2021/11/16/22785414/illinois-electric-vehicle-legislation-ev-clean-transportation-revolution-pritzker
Wind and solar will never generate enough electricity to charge them. Maybe somebody should tell people thinking of buying one.
Is Pritzker trying to make Illinois California? https://www.newsweek.com/californians-told-not-charge-electric-cars-gas-car-sales-ban-1738398
Maybe Illinois can destroy more farmland for solar farms.

A friend has a Rivian vehicle for work. Ameren said our neighborhood couldn’t handle the load so he can’t have a charger!
Thankfully Ameren stopped him …… A couple to many chargers on a local grid equals brownouts… which equal potential damage to A/C units, refrigerators, and anything that has an electric motor. A total blackout is not harmful…..it just shuts stuff off where a brownout has stuff trying to run, possibility burning up the internal contacts.
