Bloomington Housing Priorities-What Nobody Mentions

By: Diane Benjamin

One item the Bloomington Council passed Monday night was setting priorities for local housing. Go to 1:54:50 to see the slide recapping the plan. It doesn’t include interest rate buydowns.

City Manager Jeff Jurgens introduced the resolution, unfortunately the slides with statistics he presented are not on video. Jurgens stated Illinois is recovering from the 2008 downturn in construction slightly worse than surrounding states. He also claimed nationwide the housing shortage could be as high as 7.5 million homes.

No one knows how many illegal immigrants have entered the country in the last 3 1/2 years, it could be 10 million are more. It isn’t difficult to see the nationwide housing shortage is largely caused by illegals needing a place to live. Locally at least 1500 students are in English as a Second Language classes. Where are they living? Government caused the problem leaving it to local governments to solve. Connect the dots because media and government will never do it for you!

Just hit play to hear Jurgens. Note the ad below, June was “Pride month”, not August but again no one mentions the obvious.

  1. For comparison, how many students locally were taking English as a second language in the past 10 years? Has the number changed significantly? Thank you.

      1. I have inside information, it wasn’t gun related as ATF wasn’t involved, the attorney general was. That’s all I can say.

  2. Texas is going to continue to send illegals to Chicago. It was reported that as many as 25,000 will come before the Democrat convention. The dems will not allow them to be shown during the convention so they will have to be shipped somewhere.
    Get ready.
