Four things you need to know

Bloomington is number 11 on a list of the Illinois worst cities to live in: https://moneyinc.com/20-worst-places-to-live-in-illinois/#rigy9otg71l

Quote:

Bloomington, Illinois faces several challenges that impact residents’ quality of life. The city experiences higher crime rates compared to national averages, particularly in property crimes.

Economic concerns plague Bloomington, with a struggling job market and limited employment opportunities. Many residents find it difficult to secure well-paying positions, leading to financial strain.

The cost of living in Bloomington is relatively high for a mid-sized Illinois city. Housing prices and property taxes can be burdensome for many households, especially when coupled with the limited job prospects.

Planning to vote sometime between February 20th and April 1st? Not voting keeps Bloomington on this list.

My new State Rep Regan Deering was in town Friday night. I talked to her about the Senior Citizen income limitation property tax freeze that hasn’t been increased in years. The property tax freeze prevents seniors from losing their homes due to ever increasing property taxes. The current income limit is $65,000. Just 2 people collecting Social Security can be close to that because of inflation increases. Over the weekend she emailed information on 3 bills that have been filed. She plans to co-sponsor.

HB 1092 (J. Davis) raises income limitation to $85k

HB 1193 (Reick) raises income limitation to $73.7k and the raises the amount every year thereafter based on CPI..

HB 1563 (Meier) raises income limitation to $75k and the raises the amount every year thereafter based on CPI.

If Deering isn’t your rep, contact yours and ask them to co-sponsor. These should be bi-partisan bills if both parties want to protect senior citizens.

Pritzker really wants sued: https://www.mystateline.com/news/local-news/pritzker-bars-january-6th-rioters-from-illinois-government-jobs/

If he thinks people who were prosecuted for just walking through open doors are rioters he isn’t very intelligent.

  1. On The Worst Places to Live in Illinois.

They should probably add another category called Political Climate and voter turnout, because politics affects a number of other issues like high taxes, investment in the community, small business survival, education, debt, community trust and divineness, population loss, cost of living, legal risks, among others.

    It might read like this.
Low voter turnout and recent political advances by Democratic Socialists and Equity Ideologists that push radical social and economic concepts have caused concerns about the health of the community as a whole. These concerns foreshadow an exodus of investment and population that will ultimately cause Bloomington to continue to recede in its standing as the worst of the worst.

  2. The dems criticized Trump for blanket pardon of J6ers. Then Pritzger blankets all J6ers from state employment. Dems are losing and will continue to lose national office because people are sick and tired of their lies, their hypocrisy. This is not our parents democrat party. Truly they have become demonrats as anything despicable is fair game. The end justifies the means. It will take decades for the dems to recover, if they do at all.

  3. am sure Illinois state ATS system uses voter data (and a lot of other) data to profile applicants- Many already blacklisted by county and state “HR” practices (terrible systems calling it AI and data analysis aka data abuses)

Affirmative action is already built into the system and process. Thanks public private partners and tax funded consultants and colleges lol
