Early voting starts today. The only people who will show up to vote this early are the radicals. They want votes banked so they can get all people who might support them to vote early. They have 40 days to do it. Nothing about early voting is about giving citizens opportunities, it about securing elections.
This is what Democracy looks like:
You have no choices for District 87 School Board, Unit 5 School Board, or Township offices. The number of people running are exactly the number that will be elected. Heartland Board has 4 people running for 3 seats. 2 other offices have nobody running. Of course the 1% Sales Tax is on the ballot. The question does not promise property tax relief because you won’t see any.

You do have choices for mayor and council.
I marked the far left radicals for you.
With the usual low voter turnout soon you will be paying more sales tax and be ruled by people who never look at the consequences of their votes. If Hendricks loses the mayor’s race he will still be on the Council. If he wins he gets to appoint a new far left cohort who will joined by John Danenberger voting in lock step with the others progressives radicals. Most votes will be 5-4 against your wallet.

.
The 5 far left votes will make Bloomington a progressive utopian nightmare for the next 2 years.
If Ward 1 doesn’t know Ben Zimmerman, below is the press release he issued in October:
Bloomington, IL – Benjamin (Ben) Zimmerman, a lifelong Central Illinois resident, is running for the Ward 1 Council seat in the Consolidated Election to be held on April 1, 2025.
Ben has lived in Bloomington since 1999 with his wife, Kara, and their three children, two of whom attend Unit 5 schools. They have called the Blooming Grove neighborhood home since 2005, after first residing in the South Hill neighborhood.
A deep sense of duty and a willingness to serve drives Ben’s decision to run. His upbringing emphasized service to others and respect for community. He is excited and humbled by the opportunity to represent the residents of Ward 1.
Ben conveyed his commitment to listening to the voices of his ward and the broader community, ensuring their priorities are heard and addressed. “It’s important that local elected officials listen to the people,” he says. “I’m here to be an open ear and a responsive voice for Ward 1 residents.”
Public safety remains one of Ben’s key concerns, alongside infrastructure improvements. He believes in finding innovative, community-based solutions to support the city’s growing needs, including addressing the challenges of homelessness while balancing the financial impact on taxpayers.
With over 20 years of experience in information technology, including roles at State Farm and his current position as an IT consultant with HCL Tech, Ben brings strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and project management experience. He is eager to apply these strengths to serve the residents of Ward 1 and Bloomington at large.
Ben shared, “I will advocate for practical solutions and greater transparency, with focus on making Bloomington a safe and thriving place for all.”

I’m not radical, I just want to get it over with sooner than later….
Voting before debates? Early voting is also about banking votes before any facts about candidates are revealed.
Its like middle school student council elections all over again where the most popular candidate wins no matter their “stance” on the issues.
Voted in by the few that bother to vote!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is awesome. M. M.
Municipal elections need to be held during the regular and mid term election cycles.
This is on purpose to spend more money and make sure few people vote
you forgot to put a red star by Straza.
No history to support that
My god….no wonder the GOP is called the Party of Fear…..this article is ridiculous. I had no intention of voting but now thanks to this garbage I am, and am voting for those radicals…
They will generate great theater while we watch more people leave. Go for it.
Guess you missed the whole nonpartisan crap
I’m “GOP THE NEW SNOWFLAKES” side here. . . I definitely don’t like that you marked all of these candidates with the Star of David. If you are against them then I suppose I should vote FOR them! I’ll vote tomorrow on my lunch break!
It’s just a star, nothing more than I picked one of 2 options. Nice try though. Of course Able sides with Hamas so maybe I chose right
I was going to sit this one out, but now I want to see what your “two options” were. Also, that’s not “just a star”, Diane, you and I both know those are the Star of David. Anti-antisemitism? Really? Guess I can cross you off as a Nazi as well. Who’s surprised, though?
I’m not Jewish so it means nothing to me. It was bigger than 5 point star. End of story unless you are a progressive
