Eye Update

By: Diane Benjamin

I started driving again about a week and half ago. I’m no longer in house jail.

The gas bubble the doctor put in my eye to hold it in place disappeared today. It had been shrinking steadily for weeks. The last time the bubble disappeared the fix only lasted for a week. I’m praying for better results this time.

Corey Beirne and I don’t agree on much but he posted this on Facebook:

Not being able to see is awful. I hope your eye issue can be fixed Corey.

Those of you who believe in prayer, please add both of us to your list.

Everyone who hasn’t had their eyes checked recently needs to! Quit stalling. You really need your eyes.

  1. Glad you’re on the mend.
My grandma started losing her eyesight in her 90s. She was heard to say she’d rather die. As a life long reader I believed her.

    Take care

  2. May I ask you what kind of surgery that you had? I had the gas bubble put in my eyes when I had a cornea transplant. Doctor Crockett did my surgery. I also had worked at eye surgical associates for 31 years. Saying a prayer for you

  3. It’s been 5 years since my separation, and I have at best 75% vision recovery. Currently using 3 sets of dedicated glasses throughout the day. One set for using my computer, another set for reading books and another set for all other activities. When working in my workshop I need the brightest lights I can buy to see clearly. It was my strongest eye, unfortunately that was affected. My specialist has fitted me with a variety of prisms built into my glasses to bring things into proper alignment. I now use eye drops on a daily basis too.

  4. I’m glad to hear you’re getting better, Diane. As for Cory, perhaps it will be a life changing event for him when he is healed. He’ll be able to read the Constitution.

  5. Praying for your eyesight to improve. We would not be knowledgeable without your constant input over the years. You share your time and effort educating us on all political and local issues. Without your research I don’t know where we would be. Yes I do, at the math and reading levels of secondary students in Illinois and that would be pathetic.
