You had one job!

Are your bills from the City of Bloomington a mess? On the City home page:

I’ve seen lots of social media posts from people getting past due notices when the bills have been paid. If you are charged interest that isn’t cancelled because of their error, let me know.

If your bills are much higher than usual, get ready for even higher water bills. Rates go up again by another 3rd May 1st.

Billing isn’t tough. Of course this is government where meritocracy isn’t important.

  1. Sending all those tax paid city/county staff to “conferences” and IT cultish systems sales events to digitize and modernize the systems and accounting/billing systems must have really paid off $$$ Plus retire with a huge pension. (while you can barely pay your water bills)

    Its not just Bloomington unfortunately.

  2. Another example of ZERO accountability!

The staff that we employ is typically rude and not helpful, but they don’t have to be pleasant or helpful!! I mean, there is no other option – where else are you going to buy water from? I have been told that I cannot shut off your water – the monthly billing from the City will continue regardless. And if you don’t pay, the City will put a lien on your home.

  3. I have paid my water bill through my bank for years and never had a problem starting 3 months ago problem after problem
I was told to change where to send my payment through the bank from Kansas City to St. Louis which I did
Last bill showed 3 months unpaid even though the check was mailed to St. Louis
I called the number on the water bill and was instructed to go online and pay my bill I went online there no current bill displayed to pay so I called back
I did talk to a very nice lady she said I don’t know why you were told to go pay online that system doesn’t work so she said that I could pay through her I did and the bill was paid
Have not received a new water bill yet so I don’t know if the problem with paying has been fixed
Don’t know where my last payment has gone as the check has not shown as being deposited yet if it does I would hope that I receive a credit

  4. Utilities and “support” and billing in general has gone down bad paths and “partnership” using managed services, I fear. Not just B-N

  5. Lol, try applying for or renewing a license. More headaches. So much for “they work for us.”
