Bloomington Library Bozos

By: Diane Benjamin

The Bloomington Library didn’t get the memo. A $200,000 house last year isn’t assessed at $200,000 this years. They expect you to believe your library tax is going down:

The City of Bloomington was smart enough not to pull that scam: https://blnnews.com/2025/11/22/bloomington-flunked-the-transparency-test/

The City claims that $200,000 house last year is now $215,600. That means just the library tax this year will be:

215,600 / 3 = $71,867 assessed * .26131% = $187.80

It isn’t $174.21 and it’s $3.44 higher than last year. Can anyone just tell the truth?

If you look at the library’s chart they have been using the $200,000 number for 6 years. 🤦‍♀️ https://bloomingtonil.portal.civicclerk.com/event/1024/files/attachment/2570

The Safe Communities Commission will be made permanent tonight. Even though they came up with no new ideas other than spending more money when they gave their report, they fit the growing government agenda.

See that report here: https://blnnews.com/2025/10/28/bloomington-gun-recap/

Thank progressives. Feel safer?

Was the smash and grab jewelry store robbery at the mall ever solved? Are incidents of gunfire down?

  1. How can we have this committee when the police department is not on the same page. For instance, a person called to say that a known felon has a gun in their home. Oh sorry-that is a civil issue. Why did they say that? Because the person calling is the ex girlfriend. BPD said not interested in your report. Dispatch must have thought it becomes a civil matter when the claim is against the former boyfriend. Sure-go forward with this committee that does not to benefit law abiding gun owners.
