The Republicans are gathering in Tampa — and we’re nearing one of the most important deadlines in this campaign. There’ll be a lot of chatter this week — a lot of press, a lot of speculation, and a lot of who’s-up-who’s-down poll-watching. For many people, this election is going to get real very quickly. And I promise you that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan’s backers will be doing some serious spending to take advantage of the spotlight. Here’s my advice:Keep your eye on the ball. From an America that respects women, to a health care system that doesn’t discriminate against those who need it the most, to an administration that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the middle class, there’s a heck of a lot on the line.If you can, please donate $3 or more before our big deadline on Friday to help support the final phase of Barack’s and my campaign — and help Democrats up and down the ticket win. When Barack talks about winning this election, he’s not just talking about beating the other guys. He’s in it for our kids and grandkids. So while the Republicans gather to finalize their ticket this week, and while Mitt Romney practices his acceptance speech, let’s stick together and go win this thing.

When Romney chose Ryan, he made this race about their joint goal of ending Medicare.
This week all eyes are on Republicans during their national convention. They want to run from their records and the Romney-Ryan plan that dismantles Medicare to give tax breaks to millionaires instead.
But this is our chance to deliver a powerful message.
We know the truth about GOP priorities. To protect Medicare, Democrats need to take the fight to congressional districts nationwide — that’s exactly what House Majority PAC is doing. But they can’t do it without your help.
Contribute $3 or more today to deliver a powerful message to the GOP during their convention: we’ll stand up against your misguided priorities — and we’ll expose the truth about your records.
Getting our message out about the GOP’s real record will be critical to our success electing President Obama and giving him strong partners in Congress.
Thank you for standing with us.

Did those speeches tonight make you want to throw your remote at the TV?
These Republicans think they can distract voters from their extreme agenda by lying about President Obama’s record. Well, guess what? They could be right.
If Romney, Ryan and the Republicans can erase their radical record and attack President Obama with enough secret Super PAC-funded smears, then they will win in 2012.
They made their case. Now, it’s time for us to make ours.
Contribute $3 right now to support President Obama’s agenda and make sure no one forgets what radical Republicans have in store for America >>
There’s no more time to sit around and wait. Undecided voters are tuning in, and we’re getting outspent on TV in virtually every battleground state.
Let’s win this thing:
Thanks,
Robby

The New York Times called it “mean-spirited,” “aggressive,” and “intolerant.”They’re referring to the Republican Party platform. And surprise, surprise: The Los Angeles Times reported that it was “written at the direction of Romney’s campaign.”On national television this week, we’ll be hearing a different story, as the Republicans try to convince voters that the Romney-Ryan ticket is on the side of the middle class. It’s on us to make sure the millions of Americans who are just tuning into this election for the first time don’t buy it.Help fight back against the distortions and straight-up lies coming out of Tampa by donating $5 or more right now. Here’s just a snapshot of what Mitt Romney’s platform calls for:
— Turn Medicare into a voucher program to buy private insurance, forcing seniors to pay more out of pocket for their health care costs. “Intolerant” and “mean-spirited” sounds about right to me. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are in lockstep with this platform, but pay close attention to what they’re saying up on that stage this week — I guarantee you won’t hear a whole lot about any of that. Instead, they’re filling their free airtime with false promises and baseless attacks on President Obama. We can’t let them get away with it. Fight back: Thanks, and buckle up.
