Illinois GUN Grab vote today! UPDATE!

We win again – just announced in House Committee that the attempt to pass SB2899 as a gun ban has been withdrawn. It is dead for this session!

Thanks to all who contacted committee members!
This will be back, soon, so please keep your members involved.

VOICEMAIL BOXES ARE FULL ON ALL MEMBERS AT THIS TIME, so please go to their Facebook’s – FAX – or email.  Focus on Democratic members since Republicans are responding they will vote no.

After getting nowhere in the Senate, the gun controllers have taken their campaign to destroy your rights to the Illinois House. Earlier today, Amendment #1 to SB2899 was introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives. Sponsored by rabidly anti-gun Rep. Eddie Acevedo, the amendment would do two things to you: 1. It would pick your pocket to pay for the confiscation and destruction of your own guns. 2. It would ban more than 50% of the rifles and more than 80% of handguns owned by Illinois citizens.

Chicago Democrat Rep. Edward Acevedo has filed a new House Amendment #1 to SB 2899 which is in line with last week’s anti-gun push by Sen. President John Cullerton (D-Chicago). This bill has been posted to be heard tomorrow, Sunday, January 6th, in the House Judiciary Committee meeting at 2 p.m. in room 114 of the State Capitol.

This meeting is open to the public and any citizen in attendance can state their position on the bill before the vote.

As always, I’ll do my best to keep you updated.
