North Dakota is the most free state, Illinois ranked 45th out of 50.  Indiana is 16th, Indiana was chosen because of it’s proximity to Illinois.

Tax Freedom Day:

Illinois – April 23rd

North Dakota – April 18th.

Indiana – April 14

Illinois – $4512

North Dakota – $3733

Illinois – 8.13%

North Dakota – 6.52%

Gasoline Tax Rates:

Illinois – 39.1

North Dakota – 23.0

Indiana – 38.0

Corporate Tax Rate:

Illinois – 9.5%

North Dakota – (progressive tax) 1.68% > $0  4.23% > $25,000   5.15% > $50,000  

Indiana –  8.0%

Cigarette Taxes:
