Normal doesn’t want a ward system because ISU students would make their own ward and therefore have representation on the Council.
Bloomington elections, especially the last one, were won because of IWU students. They worked to elect Mayor Renner and Alderman Scott Black. Both felt it was great to use the students.
Normal doesn’t want student representation, Bloomington Council members USE the students to get elected. Read the Wesleyan report yourself. Temporary citizens voted, most permanent residents stayed home. How does it feel to live in a city were 18-22 year olds elected 2 people to the Council? Remember, they also elected the guy responsible for ObamaCare.

Yes like a school that has a little over 2000 students has such a big impact on an election. Why are you so worried about ISU students getting their own representation in Normal? Maybe next time you’ll lose the GOP Primary for McLean County auditor by 5,000 votes instead of 3,800 like last time. Ha, putting your CPA credentials at the end of your name really helped you out in the election didn’t it?
