Dump Durbin – Nov 2014

by:  Diane Benjamin

Today our Senator Dick Durbin sent an email.  He is pushing for tax credits for companies keeping jobs in this country.

Dickie:  The US has the highest corporate tax rates in the world!  Add in Illinois taxes and you have to realize why corporations are relocating to other countries and keeping their money away from America!  It’s not that difficult Dickie.  How about slashing tax rates instead of tax credits?

Why are corporations subject to any taxes?  Their employees pay taxes, their shareholders are taxed on any distributions, and any money not confiscated by the government can be used to expand business.  That means HIRING Dickie!

Who is really for the middle class?  Not Dickie.  Nonsensical federal tax loopholes?  Really?  When these companies relocate to another country they aren’t subject to federal tax Dickie.  They won’t be bringing their money back here.  All profits go overseas where you can’t touch them.

One other note Dickie, lowering taxes INCREASES receipts.  Check history.  Since you aren’t smart enough to realize that:

Term limit Dickie in November!

Diane —

Nearly 7,000 members of our Durbin online community have signed up in support of my new Patriot Employer Tax Credit proposal in the last few days.

But with major U.S.-based corporations — including Illinois’ own Walgreens and AbbVie, Inc. — considering moving overseas to take advantage of nonsensical federal tax loopholes, we need to create an even bigger groundswell of grassroots support for my legislation.

That’s the only way we’re going to get the Patriot Employer Tax Credit to become law. Can you help?

Click here to sign my petition in support of my new Patriot Employer Tax Credit bill — and let’s reward companies that do right by American workers.

Thanks,
Dick

  1. I couldn’t agree more that Durbin needs to go, but if you think Jim Oberweis is the man to do it, I think you’ve grossly underestimated the stronghold of the democratic party in Illinois and how big a loser Oberweis is. Count on six more years of Durbin.
Oberweis’ campaign is a losing proposition from the start. They only thing he’s been able to do is be the sacrificial lamb in elections time and again. He’s everything that’s wrong with the Republican party. We may have to accept the fact that Illinois is stuck with Durbin, but at least we could run a credible campaign against him and who knows maybe even defeat him. We lost this chance with Doug Truex. My only hope is that Truex will run against Kirk the next go round.
The fact that Pat Quinn can actually have a chance of being reelected (and probably will be) in this state is proof that Illinois is doomed and at the mercy of the Democrats.
I’ll vote in November and it sure won’t be for Durbin, but I’m sorry I’m just not doing cart wheels right now for Oberweis. And that’s too bad because I was ready to work hard for Truex.

      1. That is exactly my goal. I am the Liberty candidate. It was terrible that Truax lost. But, we still have me as soon as we get past the Republican party trying to throw us off the ballot. I decided to run against Durbin a long time ago. I need the support of all of the people. We need to greatly reduce the size and reach of the federal government. We need to get rid of career politicians. I’m a grandmother just wanting to help get our country turned around so that our grandchildren will have a future. We need Liberty candidates to be elected in November. Libertarians and Tea Party Republicans. We’re both enemies of the status quo. I would vote to impeach Obama and/or remove him from office. Repeal Obamacare in it’s entirety. Get rid of the Dept. of Education and a hundred other bureaucracies. Lower taxes. Get rid of the corporate income taxes. Bring businesses back to our country. If we get rid of the bureaucracies, it will be easy to cut taxes. We also need to get rid of the unconstitutional IRS.

    1. Quinn is polling worse than any other candidate. The Libertarian candidate is polling second only to Rauner, another Democrat in sheeps clothing. If enough people realize this, we can get a true Liberty candidate in office.
