Coliseum doing great! NOT

by:  Diane Benjamin

The Peoria Civic Center reported losses of $875,000 last year.  They immediately cut staff.  http://www.sj-r.com/article/20140829/News/140829413

Recent Coliseum financial statements are NOT posted on the City website.  All statements from FY 2012 and FY 2013 are on the City website, but nothing has been posted since the quarter ending October 31, 2013.  Almost a whole year!

VERY transparent!

What are they hiding?  From Facebook – You have to be friends with Foil Guy to see it.

The Smokehouse

Unfortunately we have decided not to reopen the restaurant for lunch. We will have the smokehouse stand open for events and are still looking for a location outside the building for the Smokehouse.

Very few events are scheduled through the end of the year, and no staff reductions have been announced.  Who is paying the bills and with whose money?

Tonight the Coliseum is on the agenda again because of needed repairs to the parking garage.  (the one that only lasted 7 years!)

Instead of answering questions concerning the management, Renner and Hales will proclaim the economic impact the Coliseum is having for the City.  In case you missed it, I did a Freedom of Information Act request for how the number is calculated.   Here’s what I received:  (http://blnnews.com/2014/06/24/coliseums-economic-impact-cough-cough/)

econ1In other words, they made it up.

It’s time for adults to start running the City!  It’s also time for some REAL Transparency.
