These pictures are from a rail crossing on Morrissey (Route 150), very close to Rhodes Drive. Map: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Morrissey+Dr+%26+Rhodes+Ln,+Bloomington,+IL+61704/@40.4523264,-88.965327,16z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x880b6fc690ab0c67:0x2b0982281ec22572
Citizen report:
I’m at a loss to find out who to complain to about the deplorable condition of the railroad crossing on Morrissey (150) just south of Quik N Ez. It is so bad that my neighbor has blown two tires going across this thing in the past 2 weeks. Folks I’ve talked to say this section is technically City of Bloomington, others say it’s a state highway and others say the crossings are the responsibility of the rail roads? The rubber cushion in the crossing is completely demolished.
.
The on-line maps are difficult to read, but it appears this area is not in the City of Bloomington. The County district maps aren’t any easier to read, but I’d start with District 3:
- Julie J. Brandt, District 3
- George O. Wendt, District 3
These 2 Board members should at least be able to direct complaints to the right people. In the meantime, if you like your tires take a different route. That is going to be difficult since it’s a busy main road.
Morrissey drive south is Route 150, which is a state of Illinois Road. However the railroad company owns the Crossing, since the railroad was installed first they own the property. Your best bet for action is to contact the owner of that railroad. If you don’t get anywhere with them, then contact the Illinois commerce commission.
Thanks. County Board members contacting them for you will probably get more attention. Just my thoughts.

I just received a report that the State fixed the crossing today!
I wonder what it was the fixed? It was the same condition when i went over it 3 times today.
Don’t know when. If nothing has changed let me know tomorrow.
