Renner is stacking the Council

by:  Diane Benjamin

Mayor (less than) Transparency is busy stacking the Council.  Scott Black quit the County Board to be a Renner puppet.  Renner appointed Painter, so far nobody is running against her next year.  Tonight Renner gets another appointment.  The Council members made comments to Renner about his pick but they are still a secret.  Renner’s choice is a person with no Council experience instead of a guy that attends almost every meeting.  Experience evidently doesn’t matter – remember that when campaigning starts.

So far David Sage doesn’t have an opponent.  Evidently the taxpayers in Bloomington want to pay for a downtown hotel, an addition to the library, and accumulate more debt for sewer and road work.

City owned buildings are allowed to decay because maintenance is deferred.   The City is leasing a building that should be condemned.  A private company wouldn’t be allowed to rent a building with holes in the roof.

The Coliseum will lose more money than you are told.  It will remain a secret so as not to upset the Renner downtown revitalization plans.  More stuff you will pay for, like it or not.

If you want a Council that votes 8-1 on everything presented don’t get involved.  Your reward will be higher taxes.  Congrats.

In another 2 years Renner could achieve 9-0, just like Normal.  How’s that working for them?

  1. Still available nation wide are the t-shirts that would best fit this council “I’m with stupid.” Of course two additional to the initial seven shirts (size M and a size XXXL) would say, “Stupid.”

    1. It would be better if citizens actually ran for Council to shut him down. Then if more than 15-20% bother to vote. Why do taxpayers have to be destroyed before they fight back. It’s a little late by then.

      1. That is correct, a better council that truly reflects the foundations of questions, exploration, and a welcoming of some diversity would be ideal. Until that happens though the never defined (this mayors) agenda of culture change to destroy true American values will continue.

  2. Renner is not only stacking the Council, he’s doing so with weak minded individuals who are not capable of independent thought. People like Alton Franklin are not welcome because they’re too strong for Renner’s agenda.
