Coliseum investigated by Attorney General

By:  Diane Benjamin

The Coliseum Management has refused to turn over documents I requested under the Freedom of Information Act.  I asked for the payroll for calendar year 2014 and various Micros reports for events held in the building.  (the City owns the Micros equipment)  I even included rulings from the Attorney General’s office saying documents in the hands of sub-contractors (like CIAM) are subject to the Freedom of Information Act.  The AG sued the management of the arena in Rosemont under similar circumstances, CIAM should expect the same.

TAXPAYERS own the building.  CIAM was hired to manage the building – not own it.  They have refused to turn over any information – even to the City – claiming it could hurt their business.  I’d like to tell them: “Your management can get worse if reports are public?”, but I will settle for “Comply with the law!”  CIAM has been acting like kids in a candy store with no accountability since they assumed management.  David Hales has allowed them to run amok.  Maybe taxpayers will finally get some answers!

  1. There are too many Bozos on this (the Hales/Renner) bus. Let’s take one of the hardly used Connect Transit busses and ship them all out.
