Tari attacks me again! Not In Our Town?

By:  Diane Benjamin

Last night Bloomington’s Mayor left the following comment on this story:  http://blnnews.com/2015/02/10/does-tari-know-that-judy-isnt-running/

Tari 2-10-15 (2)

This is what Tari claims is an attack on his son.  A reader made this comment:

I’m as conservative as they come, but why are you coming at a college kid and his girlfriend? Seems kind of creepy that you’ve been posting their twitter statuses. Even the NSA doesn’t do that.

I responded with this comment:

Proves the relationship. I could go farther. Renner’s son is his Facebook friend, not surprising since it’s a small school. Twitter feeds aren’t private information unless you want them to be. I’m sure your comments just got added to the NSA big book. Creepy?

That’s an attack Tari?  Facebook friends are public unless the page owner protects the information.  They are also meaningless because they prove nothing other than somebody sent a Friend Request and the receiver approved it.  Did you miss the “small school” part Tari?

In case you forgot, this isn’t the first time Tari attacked me with comments to a story:  http://blnnews.com/2013/12/22/mayor-transparency-exposed/

Even the Pantagraph reported Renner’s antics:  http://www.pantagraph.com/news/local/renner-blasts-conservative-blogger-over-secret-meeting-claim/article_7f03006c-6c2e-11e3-801b-001a4bcf887a.html

.

I sent Tari the following email this morning – he hasn’t responded.

  1. It’s time for Bloomington’s Not in Our Town to demand Mayor Renner live up to the Pledge that he signed. If not it proves Signing a pledge means nothing

  2. Diane: What are you planning to do about his comments?? He is a horrible example of a mayor and a human being. Slander??/ Janet

    1. Someone, is also terribly thin-skinned, but that seems to be fairly par for the course among the progressive political set

  3. Diane: I have sent Tari’s comments to my FB page and to Cities 92.9. I will be more than happy to send this to IWU, WJBC and the City of Bloomington. This is just not called for and he needs to be accountable!

  4. I’m curious, how do you know for sure that is Renner and not just someone trying to stir up more trouble for the fun of it?

  5. Diane: I sent an email to the IWU President’s office, spoke to the IWU Provost’s office, emailed the Pantagraph and the Illinois Board of Education. Janet

      1. Spoiler… probably not. Those liberal hippies at IWU probably orchestrated this whole thing to begin with. They don’t like Judy’s responsibility on the council and I bet people at the top sent those kids to attack her. Script and all.

  6. Now Tari is on the record saying “I will give people anything they want to know about their government”. Great! How about fessing up with all those redacted emails you owe Diane, Tari? Also, I have some FOIA emails for David Hales due next week, and I expect them to be free of any redactions too!! Thanks for finally giving us true transparency Professor!. ( I’m really not going to hold my breath)

    1. That was the first thing I thought when I read that statement as well. Why did Diane have to sue them for emails if he will give people anything they want to know about their government?

  7. Now is the time to push Renner relentlessly! He is obviously nearing a major crack-up. Must be “off his meds”.

  8. I just listened to the apology. I agree Mayor Renner’s apology rings hollow because no one went after his son. I think a parent involved in politics would have used the opportunity to teach their offspring there are times in politics when you have to have thick skin and simply ignore some criticism. Also after reading the post he should of explained to his son that no one attacked him. Mayor Renner has once again missed a opportunity to teach his son a lesson about the world of politics.

  9. “This will be my last post on this sick site of the worst part of humanity”

LULZ! At least we now know what ‘his Honor’ thinks of hard working people who believe government should be held accountable for it’s decisions.
