Is the City Council going to hold Tari accountable? Is Tari going to quit?
I have no idea. If you live in Bloomington, call your alderman. Call City Hall – I hear the phones are ringing constantly from outraged citizens.
Tari has 7 Aldermen that support him almost 100% of the time. Tari wants all 9 aldermen voting for his “tax more” and “spend more” policies.
The way to defeat Tari is to VOTE.
Three Aldermen can be replaced April 7th: Karen Schmidt, Joni Painter, and Diana Hauman
Schmidt and Painter voted for all 3 tax increases last year. Hauman wasn’t on the Council, but since Tari appointed her she hasn’t voted against his plans.
A 4th person will be elected from Ward 4 to replace Judy Stearns. Tari’s pick is Amelia Buragas – 2nd choice would be Chip Frank.
Primary for Ward 4 is February 24th.
If you are in Ward 4, drag your neighbors to the polls. Drag anybody you can find who is registered. Sitting out this election is not an option.
What else you can do:

Donate if you can, it takes money defeat him. Yes, you can stop him, even if he stays in office for 2 more years.

Well done Diane. Keep your chin up. You’ve started a conversation that needed to happen. The professor’s comments are bringing new people here. Keep up the good work. And since I know the Renner family reads this blog, I say to them “grow some balls, put on ya big boy pants, cause it’s on now. All us “nut jobs” are comin out the woodwork. NIOT professor!”
Thanks. Readers have quadrupled. Thanks for the advertising Tari.
Are you planning a post about Dan Metz – Ward 4 Write-In candidate? I spoke with him earlier this week and he seems to be a good choice for us.
I did a few weeks ago
Didn’t the President of IWU sign the stop hate and bullying Not in Our Town pledge? I think he needs to explain why he is looking the other way. http://www.cinewsnow.com/news/local/Bloomington-says-Not-in-Our-Town-to-bullying-285288011.html
Don’t know. Ask him. I do know one contributor who is rethinking their giving.
For any ward 4 residents out there, Jeremy Kelly has a facebook page for his candidacy. Go on there and ask to meet him. I met with him after he reached out to me when I liked the page. He has a lot of good ideas. I encourage you to meet with him even if you already decided who you are voting for.
There is no excuse for this kind of hate speech from someone holding public office. He needs to resign.
