Attn: All citizens opposed to Bloomington Government UPDATE

UPDATE:  I have lots of great ideas for shirts, not nearly enough people willing to wear them!  Who can spend 10 minutes making an appearance?

By:  Diane Benjamin

The Bloomington City Council is poised to raise taxes AGAIN.  Maybe they heard the opposition last night at the 4 Wards meeting, maybe they didn’t.

If anyone wants to at least make an appearance at Council meetings to show opposition to the raise taxes agenda –

I have a person willing to pay for matching T-shirts with some yet to be determined message.

Maybe a mass of matching citizens will shake some brains into realizing they are chasing people OUT of Bloomington!

If you are interested, email me and suggest an appropriate message:  blnnews@yahoo

How about bright lime green covering the whole back of the room when the meeting starts?  Think they would notice?  Send me ideas!

  1. Great idea–a group of people would have to attend either or both the Sept 7 and Sept 21 meeting.
The Council’s plan is to approve the Task’s Force recommendation at the 9/21 meeting in order to meet the October deadline to raise Sales Taxes.

  2. Dayglow green tshirts with bright pink flamingos and a slash thru them with headline NO MORE TAX INCREASES

  3. I think the cost would be high, but I have always liked concert tour T-Shirts. Have Tari and The Say Yes Mafia on the front. On the back there would be the name usually reserved for the tour: Tax-A-Palooza or Taxin’ It To The Poor House. In place of the tour dates, put an imaginary timeline depicting population loss in Bloomington and Normal. Neon yellow would be quite visible.

  4. WHAT? No Doobie Brothers fans out here? How about “Taxin it to the streets”? And you could call em ” TARI and the Appointees” We’re no good tour 15″ Just a thought. I like the day glo yellow idea. ALL you folks have great ideas actually, but there’s a LOT to work with.

      1. An Awakening 5:30p prior to the council meeting that will attend both ans let them know that you do not accept a sales tax of 8.75%( for information see An Awakening-Facebook)
