Uh?

Obviously David Hales doesn’t have enough staff to even proof read!

.

bcpaaa29 events, including Beer Fest, only had 4,755 attendees?  Aren’t they subsidized around $500,000 a year?

Library – Page 57

The decrease in customers continues.  Are they still planning to build?  Sure.

Customers borrowed 121,986 items in August, 2015 which is less than the 123,207 items borrowed in August, 2014. There were 28,501 visitors to the Library in August, 2015 compared to 29,197 in August, 2014. Staff answered 4147 questions from customers this month compared to 5605 questions answered in August, 2014.

.

The entire report is chocked full of statistics.  How would you feel as an employee if EVERYTHING you did had to be timed, documented, or categorized?

I’d have low morale!

  1. All of that performance data is “required” by ICMA to publish the report so Hales can receive his award.

    1. “The City utilizes performance data to identify efficiencies and potential inefficiencies for the purpose of improving services, responsible budgeting and enhancing transparency in local government. In effort to best guide City resources toward the betterment of the community…” page 4.
Wonder why the city just hired a consultant to determine fees based on performance. Who do you think has to collect and provide the data for Hales? It is the department employees.
Regarding the BCPA, there are 10 FT unionized employees. The 49 events include weddings, piano lessons, award ceremonies, string lessons, tours, Holiday Spectacular auditions, 2 shows of Miller Park Summer Theatre (plus rehearsals), etc. Statistics can depict whatever one wants them to.

      1. Maybe the shows were not at the BCPA but the rehearsals probably were. The problem is the Hales spin…trying to make thing look better then they are. The attendance # is not for ticketed performances, therefore the need for extra subsidies. Hales’ management skills are hopeless.
