Nora Katherine: The video

By:  Diane Benjamin

This is for the readers NOT on Facebook. You probably were totally lost on the previous posts, so this might help.

The video below was done by a reader.  Sorry Nora Katherine, you didn’t take the Facebook page down fast enough.

Here’s the Facebook basics:

  • Users create their own page
  • Then they become “Friends” with whoever they want – a “Friends” list is created
  • Pages they want to read are “Liked” – another list is created

This video show the pages that Nora Katherine “Liked” and her “Friends” list – many City employees.

It is possible to make all this invisible to anyone who isn’t a “friend”.  Nora Katherine chose not to.

My Facebook page isn’t invisible either because I have nothing to hide.  I also have no personal information in my Facebook profile, so it’s not a risk.  Nora Katherine must have something to hide since the page is now gone.

There is a Nora Dukowitz page with No Posts.  It says “worked”, not works, at the City of Bloomington.  Prophetic?

The video clearly shows links from Nora Katherine to the 3 Facebook pages dedicated to attacking me and Alderman Lower.  Attacking the messengers is much easier than presenting opposing points of view.  Luckily, most people are sick of this brand of politics.  Nora Katherine must be very embarrassed by now.  As Communications Manager she is the public face of the City.  Evidently her boss – David Hales – approves.  If she’s been fired they haven’t said.  It will be easier to read if you expand it to full screen.

  1. Comment from You Tube just had to share so well written, accurate and factually correct. Remember those that voted elected them. Now we need to elect real leaders and not ideological politicians. Real citizens need to start looking at running and announcing NOW !!!!!

Our City officials, elected representatives, local business leaders ( and I use that term liberally) and those affiliated with the ill-begotten professionals of current politics have outdone themselves. In their attempt to cast a dark shadow over certain personalities based on a hatred of opposition to the flawed administration of the City and those seeking the truth, they have instead darkened their own character with their clouded sense of superiority and God-complex mentality.
A rude awakening always awaits those who place themselves in glass houses and tall ivory towers.
It’s a long distance to ground zero once their fall begins – and it will – it always does.

  2. It’s appalling that any city employee, especially a communications director that would engage in such a sophomoric smear campaign. That being said, I highly suspect that Nora was encouraged to do so by the likes of one little man who walks behind the corn.

  3. Beautifully done, Diane! Helped me to recognize who the enemy is. Sadly, a few names and faces I didn’t expect–but hey, save some postage money by paring down the Christmas card list a little. You might want to encourage your readers to view the video in full screen format. Much clearer and easier to read.

  4. I noticed a few people from Wjbc on the friends list. No wonder they refused to talk about the Fistbump issue.

  5. This SHOULD be a LESSON to people who are on Facebook or Linkedin, etc, that just BECAUSE someone wants you to “link” or “Like” them, be careful in “joining up” or your name will be pasted on the page. YES, a few there I am surprised at also, and who I KNOW would not approve of Noras shenanigans. If THIS is what a communications person does, how about we get Genghis Khan for a PR person! Balloons and Politics??

  6. Just when I thought you got as creepy as you could… You post this. This is straight up stalker sh* right here. This isn’t a funny matter. Public employee or not, you’re going out of your way to humiliate this person. Maybe you should think about being a decent human being. No, I don’t know Nora, but I do know stalker behavior when I see it. Chill out, woman, seriously.

      1. Why are you interested when you don’t live in Bloomington? See, it goes both ways.
That said, keep it up. 🙂

    1. As a “professional social media expert”, Nora should have known better than to fail to use privacy settings on her personal FB page. Job seekers are always advised to remove any posts that a current or future employers may find inappropriate. Her immature behavior shows she is not fit for her position at the City.

  7. Anyone that has a computer and a Facebook account the video does help those that do not want and are not on Face Book.
Such as some wise elected officials. Only 5 of the 9 wards are on her list. King Tari only needs 5 to run the kingdom.
Interesting how that 5 vote in a high number of votes the same way.

No, it is not stalking it is documenting facts.
Again, anyone with an internet connection can see the same public domain information. Just to capture it and share what is already available …not stalking. Diane did not do the video that was me for clarity.

  8. I’m a supporter, but I have to say, I’m once again disappointed by this blog. It really looks as though you can dish it out, but can’t take it. AND you’ve fallen into same situation as Mayor Renner when he responded to one of your blog posts. You’ve actually acknowledged that the other side exists and given them more fuel for their fire. You’re simply smarter than this Diane. But I’m not sure you understand how social media works. Just because people have likes in common doesn’t mean they’re the originator of a Facebook page. Clearly, monitoring social media sites would fall under the Communication Manager’s job duties. Parody, satire, lampooning, and spoofing are all legitimate forms of criticism and humor. Let it go. Or step it up! The other sites are more entertaining!

    1. Nora is involved with 3 sites criticizing a sitting Alderman. I don’t care what she says about me, but an elected official she has to work with? Seriously?

      1. Point taken. Don’t get sucked into other peoples’ antics. It just will distract you from your objective.

    2. MONITORING social media sites is all well and good as part of the City job held Nora. Responding or “liking” to one that is disrespectful to an elected official is unacceptable.

  9. Skunk monitoring is one thing you can do without clicking “LIKE” on a number of posts that were against one of the very elected officials you should be respectful of even if you disagree.
She help spread the smear .. how ? Each time she liked something cute dog photos or all the Alderman Lower photos everyone of her 403 (now 393) friends including 5 council members ALL GOT A MESSAGE SHE LIKE IT. She liked the degrading comments of an elected official of the City of Bloomington who EMPLOYED her to HELP the CITY not damage it.

So, Mr. or Ms. Skunk that is not monitoring. It is wrong unprofessional and in the real world she would be fired. There are other reasons she should be fired but since that is a personal matter it will not be aired here.

    1. Jimmie, we are agreeing on this matter. i was responding to Rob’s comment but I didn’t express myself as well as you.
