Avoiding Transparency yet again

By:  Diane Benjamin

Thursday night the Bloomington City Council is holding a retreat starting at 5:30.  It could be held in the Council Chambers where live streaming is available, but it’s not.  This time it’s at the BCPA.

They aren’t holding it there because large crowds are expected.  The agenda is boring at best.  Communication exercises is first on the agenda, then re-connection exercises.   (They aren’t talking about citizens here!)

Interpretation:  Council must agree on everything, no thoughtful discussions.  Think Normal Council meetings that last less than 1/2 hour.

Since most Alderman work for the City, not the people they represent, they will only care about you if you show up.  Bring friends.

Tell them they would be much more effective if they weren’t constantly trying to hide information from citizens.

  1. My gawd! How many retreats must they have? How about Hales retreats his posterior out of town? Take that no good commie mayor with you David!

  2. Wonder HOW MANY pizzas from the LUCCA they’ll order to stuff themselves on BEFORE they can think? MAY take quite a bit.
