Coliseum: More secrets

By:  Diane Benjamin

The year-end for the Coliseum was 4/30/15.  (7 1/2 months ago)

Since then one of these is true:

  • CIAM hasn’t issued any quarterly statements
  • The City of Bloomington is purposely not posting them on their website

See this link:

http://www.cityblm.org/index.aspx?page=21&parent=6548

There should be a tab for 2016.  There isn’t.

According to the contract:

8.3 Monthly Reports.
By the twenty-fifth day of each month, CIAM shall provide to the City a written monthly report in a form approved by the City and similar to that used in other CIAM managed facilities setting out the Center’s anticipated activities for the upcoming month and reporting on the prior month’s activities and finances.

I don’t know if monthly reports were ever issued – but quarterly reports have been issued for years.

The Coliseum and/of the City is now 2 quarterly reports behind.

Am I going to file a Freedom of Information Request?

Silly question.

The real question is whether the City will redact information illegally again.

  1. Of course they will, they don’t want us to see ALL the $$$ they are making and MAYBE be audited-that’s my GUESS!

  2. Look what I found in BRING IT ON BLOOMINGTON
D-1.2a Amend Coliseum management contract to involve its management in economic development projects compatible with Coliseum operations. City of Bloomington, short term. page 102

      1. If it is in the Comprehensive Plan the Council and Hales will push it through. We’ll see what the new contract entails. Don’t worry–the council has the “contract negotiations covered.”

  3. why would you have to “amend” the Coliseum Management contract when the current contract expires in three months?
