Hales DECEMBER report (oops!)

Anybody know if Nora sends this out?

By:  Diane Benjamin

The bigger government gets, the worse job they do.  Accountability becomes lower and lower because they feel invincible.  Since they play with your money, being correct isn’t a priority.

Enter the City of Bloomington.

David Hales has issued his December City Manager’s report.  It contains at least two big errors.  With an Admin budget more than twice as big as it was a few years ago, one would think somebody could proof-read it.  http://www.cityblm.org/index.aspx?page=21&parent=8106

Error #1

The library report starting on Page 43 isn’t from December – it’s from October:

The November City Manger’s report showed November numbers, how did October’s get in December’s report?

Error #2

This chart was included in the Police report:

decpolicIt looks like the Police were out to ticket everybody in one month!

So, I looked at November.  The exact same chart is included – but without totals.  Then I looked at October:

octpoliceWhat are the real numbers?  No Clue!  Stare at October’s compared to December and see if you can figure it out.

Neither represents crossing a calendar or fiscal year that would cause a numbers reset.

Other items of interest:

Worried about LEAD in the water?  “Anytime we can”?  It could have been worded better!

The City has been researching a new concession sales system for close to a year.  The City owns the system the Coliseum uses now.  Hence, my lawsuit.  The Coliseum management claims you have no rights to the reports generated on City owned equipment.  Sure.

BCPA:

9,999 divided by 41 = 244 people per event.  Seriously, the BCPA is heavily subsidized for 244 per event?

Actually, they are trying to make their numbers look better by including every person whether they pay or not.

Citizens would rather see profit/loss numbers per major event.  These number just look silly.

One More BIG one:

Tax receipts year to date are 3,761,278 higher than last year. This is BEFORE the Council added another 1% Sales tax. Abuse? Don’t forget who voted for it: all aldermen except Lower and Mwilambwe.

    1. One day I was looking and I couldn’t believe it there was an ice making manager and an assistant. I don’t recall the their exact job titles. Wow I didn’t know making ice was so scientific.
