Justice isn’t swift.
Two City lawyers showed up in court today, including the expensive guy from Springfield – Jeff Jurgens.
The Coliseum had at least one lawyer present.
At least 3 lawyers against little ‘ol me.
City lawyer George Boyle referred to David Hales as a hostile witness. Congrats taxpayers.
The judge threw out one of the reasons to dismiss the case, but accepted the second one argued by CIAM. The case isn’t over, I need to file an amended motion. CIAM then asked for 30 days to respond to what I file. David Hales did not testily today. Delay and drag out the case, lawyers getting richer at your expense.
Why is the City and CIAM fighting your right to know who is getting paid at your taxpayer-funded asset, and why are they fighting to keep total concession sales a secret? Is Hales, Renner, or the Council afraid of being charged with Official Misconduct for failure to adequately account for taxpayer funds? Is CIAM worried about what could be found if the concession reports are turned over to me?
Ask your alderman. Then ask your alderman why the City is doing business with a company hiding information. Ask the ones up for election next year why this fact shouldn’t be held against them. Same for Tari Renner.
Meanwhile, the City is getting ready to sign another contract with CIAM.
The City of Bloomington built the Coliseum against the wishes of taxpayers. Failure to hire competent transparent management is unforgivable.
Thanks to those who came today, the courtroom was packed.

Go get ’em!
It’s costing me a lot of time and MONEY!
I think part of the problem is that CIAM does not have any accurate financial statements to hand over. Their annual report to the Council did not include any dollar amounts for revenue or expenditures for specific events. I’m sure they don’t want anyone to see how incompetent they really are. That new contract is within reach for them. Hales wants this to go away because the buck stops with him and he wants to keep his job and get his raise. Large corporations (government) can “afford” to drag out the process hoping the little guy will have to give up.
All those who think government should be held accountable to the taxpayers should give financial support to someone willing to stand up and attempt to expose corruptness.
