Except:

Gleason didn’t get the job in Arizona: https://www.wglt.org/local-news/2024-03-29/tim-gleason-reflects-on-his-six-years-as-bloomington-city-manager

Also from the 1st article:

Is this why Gleason “was interested in returning to Decatur”?

  1. The proposed $60 million for streetscape changes in downtown is a total waste of money. How many 3rd world streets in town could be resurfaced with that money?

  2. I also have to wonder how much he liked the drag garbage celebrated In downtown every year, the bistro, the gay parade through the park, the pornographic books available to children at the library, the crazy “progressives” in govt & on the council, the hideous “mural” in Miller Park & on the underpass on Market St. & so many other examples. I’d run if I could too.

  3. Well, I’m in the camp that I actually LIKED Mr. Gleason. Start with doing everything possible to get that Arena profitable instead of sitting there doing nothing. Making changes in staff to increase customer service to the people, accountability to taxpayers and keeping peace with bleeding heart whiners. Got leaders into position to stop wasting tax dollars and keep things in tune with what the needs are, like separating the sewers, paving streets and updating sidewalks. Our previous leadership was locked into wasteful spending while he did all he could to cut costs in areas that needed it. He respected the voices of the people and did his best to try to get council representatives to follow the words of the constituents. REMEMBER: He answered to the council and they often tied his hands.
He had a LOT of wins and I for one, am sorry to see him leave.

Now the concern is: this incompetent council we have now hiring someone that puts us back to the days of not prioritizing the actual needs of residents.
