Remember Public Safety is a high priority! Your taxes paid for the fire department response. 😁

  1. well isnt the whole “tent city” what they refer to as a “dumpster fire”….I will let myself out….mic drop….

  2. Have you checked the small “tent city” that has been in Normal and growing. Across from Monical’s on Main sort of behind the Auto parts store??????????

      1. Will try. I am always driving when I see it. Hard to stop on Main to get a good pic. It’s right next to the railroad tracks and the creek.

  3. This morning as I drove by many were outside cooking on their grills, probably someone threw coals in dumpster. I have spoken about this at many city council meetings and still there it sits. Why do we tax payers have to pay ? The property is owned by Eastview Church, they made the decision to let people camp there, they should be billed for the fire response , not West Side property owners. Going forward they should be billed for any response by fire department or BPD.

    1. Surena is 100% correct. However , the alderperson representing her ward cares more for the homeless than the homeowners , so therein lies the answer as to why nothing is being done about it.

      1. Everyone in Ward 6 should email the alder person and demand Eastview Community Center pay for city responses. Also email Ward 7 alder person and ask the same thing and it should be addressed at the “Safety Commission ” meeting as it is against safe communities mission

  4. Ask these questions
1- Is there a permit for fires/ cooking/ selling prepared food?
2- Is there a permit for permanent outdoor toilets ?
3- Is there a permit for camping ?
4- Is there a permit for occupancy ?
    Just asking

  5. I encourage all the homeless to move to CA where the weather is better. Better weather, better benefits too.

  6. I’m surprised BLONO are not promoting HOMELESS CAMP TOURS . The camps could be part of the tourism scene. BLONO could use the empty transit buses as tour buses taking passengers all over BLONO to see the camps. There seems to be more and more camps popping up so the tour would be a moneymaker for the cities! I’m being facetious now but seeing more and more of the camps popping up it could become a reality.
