If you’ve ever watched a council meeting you know why I call him Mr. Giggles. Those giggles hide the fact that he’s a big government guy and pushes a progressive (communist) agenda. Can’t Bloomington do better?
Mwilambwe to run for 2nd term as Bloomington mayor
Excerpts:
Mwilambwe said he wants to see the city continue on what he calls an “upward trajectory.”
“We’ve developed a lot of plans. The downtown streetscape is something that is very exciting. We have a lot of infrastructure we need to continue to repair,” he said.
The streetscape plan also may include a Tax Increment Financing [TIF] district to offer incentives to redevelop downtown.
Trying to be like Normal, Bloomington can take out loans to hand to developers in the hope they will raise property values enough to pay them off. Or Bloomington can hand out cash from their reserves for the same purpose.
Meanwhile, next year your roads will be worse than this year because for decades they have been ignored in favor of their crap nobody wanted. (Quality of Life)

In a second term, the mayor said he also wants to more fully and aggressively address the Twin City housing shortage — an issue he said that could be an impediment to further economic growth in the city.
Can Mboka lower interest rates so builders can afford to build? Fix supply chain issues? Bill taxpayers for government housing?
He can’t even get rid of illegal camping downtown. Maybe his plan is a bigger campground!
I will endorse anyone but him. He fell right in line with Gleason.

Based on Mr Hendricks complete ignoring of anything except downtown bars and parties and not seeming concerned with Westside Issues ( tent city , streets, water bills) outside of that short few blocks . NO -NO-NO

Straza has been telling people he’s going to run, too. He also left his campaign account open after last time which is a dead giveaway that he plans on running.
Honestly, he annoys me more than Mboka. I have yet to hear anyone that sounds like more of a buffoon when they open their mouth. At least if Hendricks runs he’ll tell you where he stands on things so you can decide for yourself. I can respect that. Mboka and Straza are just empty suits trying to be everything to everyone, saying nothing in the process so as not to upset anyone.
