It’s pretty clear that shows drawing a couple hundred people or less lose money. Broader appeal shows can make money.
All BCPA event reports are here: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/government/advanced-components/documents/-folder-2097#docan2735_6873_64
The report for this show is being revised after I questioned $32,000 for “stage hands”. It should have only been $26,872.74 per Katherine Murphy. Either way, it lost a lot of money even with a good attendance. Murphy said this was a “yellow card” union show, thus the high price.

The total for all the above show a profit of $2,617.40. Add another $5,127.26 for the revisions of the first report – $7,744.66 profit. Better than usual!
This is for the 3/14/2024 show: The Boy Who Cried Wolf. An event report is not posted:

I have no idea what this one is.
There isn’t an event report for others too:
Cirque Mechanics – Zephyr 2/25/24

Rodney Carrington 3/21/24
Jeremy Camp 3/24/24

The BCPA should not be owned by the tax payers and run by the government!
This scenario is always a recipe for failure.
How about WE market it and sell it to a private investor/ownership group that wants to own/run/manage BCPA!!
And if there is no interest, then we close it down.
Because if there is no private party interest – that means there is no interest for it in the marketplace.
I have never attended any events at the BCPA.
There is never anything going on there that interests me.
