Below are the only roads in the 2024 Resurfacing plan: https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/departments/public-works/bloomington-streets#ad-image-1
On the left side is the rating on the scale of 3 to 8.

Total 6.11 miles!
Fort Jesse is 3 lanes .45 x 3 = 1.35 lane miles
Towanda is 5 lanes .3 x 5 = 1.5 lane miles
Washington is 4 lanes .11 x 4 = .44 lane miles
Part of Oakland is 3 lanes .19 x 3 = .57 lane miles
The rest of Oakland is 2 lanes .59 x 2 = 1.18 lane miles
Calculate Lane Miles:
Total miles: 6.11 – .45 -.3 – .11 – .19 – .59 = 4.47 miles of 2 lanes x 2 = 8.94
8.94 + 1.35 + 1.5 +.44 +.57 +1.18 = 13.98 total lane miles being resurfaced.
Head hurt yet? I will make it worse:
Total lane miles in all of Bloomington is 841. Let’s just say the City continues to resurface around 14 lane miles a year.
That means roads will get resurfaced every 60 years.
Keep in mind Bloomington has 61.28 miles of the worst rated roads, a few are getting fixed. https://blnnews.com/2024/05/16/final-roads-report/
Your roads are a result of DECADES of not spending enough because entertainment and revitalizing downtown was more important.
Vote better, the city is still doing it.
Don’t ask me why they are resurfacing an 8 rated road (Huntington), maybe it fell apart since it was rated.

I’m sure even fewer miles will get resurfaced when the city gives away more money to illegal migrants.
Always less after an election
Check out the house at Jefferson Colton in Bloomington I thought the city mowed you grass and charge you
Won’t they have to rip up the roads to replace the failing sewer system?
