Bloomington Agenda – Tonight

By: Diane Benjamin

Did your water bill skyrocket? A friend told me this weekend his meter wasn’t read for the 2 previous months and this month the City made up for it with a massive increase.

Agenda: https://d3n9y02raazwpg.cloudfront.net/cityblm/f7247ca1-5bbe-11ee-ae13-0050569183fa-d854eb82-3702-4140-9de6-ac3a8e3f379d-1725655884.pdf

Proving “diversity” is merely a talking point, the mayor is doing another reappointment tonight: Joseph Blaney to the Transportation Commission.

On the regular Agenda:

1)

The Council will pass an emergency ordinance to house the increasing number of homeless inside for the winter: https://d2kbkoa27fdvtw.cloudfront.net/cityblm/4406e37e3b99522ba133532d0f46dbe30.pdf

I bet no one will bring up why homelessness is increasing!

    2)

    Discussion of local housing initiatives:

A local Rent Control ordinance is not being discussed. Far left democrat Krystle Able held another meeting pushing for it. She has zero background in economics and no clue that properties available to rent would dry up if Illinois lifts the ban.

    Vote better BloNo.

    1. Just got my water bill almost a $50.00 jump from last month how are the elderly and poor on fixed incomes going to make it? Not just huge water bill increases but the latest round of house tax increases make living here impossible.
You think all this is also going to make what people pay for rent go down?
Time to dump the tea into the water!!!

    2. Not surprised how city handles their “employees” and roles/salaries and 3rd party “partnerships” and integrations (gotta pay those big raises and pensions for roles that should never exist. The whole system/workflows and accounting at county/city level needs to be investigated and salary structures too citizens all pay for.
