Word Salad #1:

Word Salad #2:

Note: Both of these items are on the Consent Agenda and won’t be discussed unless an alderman pulls them for discussion.

The first one authorizes the City to issue bonds for the water projects your water bill will triple to cover. The second one authorizes the City to issue bonds to make the Owen Nursery property suitable for Public Works.

See the documentation when the Owen’s property was purchased: https://d2kbkoa27fdvtw.cloudfront.net/cityblm/a6f3c545b90ef3e9380189158091842d0.pdf

Future improvement costs were stated as exceeding $10,000,000. It does: $21,000,000. Who knew that and when did they know?

On the Regular Agenda:

Maybe before tonight the City can fix all the links that don’t work to previous action by the Historic Preservation Commission and the Planning Commission. The property owner is still against this designation. According to the documentation, 2/3 of the Council must vote yes to approve this. To stop this obvious violation of property rights, 4 Council members need to vote NO.

Are there 4 people with any brains on the Council? I have no idea but I will be watching. If there aren’t 4 the City will force to the Peoria Diocese to spend money and time on an appeal.

If the Council will jam this down the throat of the property owner, they will do anything to you they want. Note the staff recommends approval.

This vote should clarify the April 1, 2025

City Council election!

  1. For one thing, the Peoria diocese doesn’t have the money to pay for renovations and upgrades. They are and have closed churches all over the diocese because of lack of attendance and funding and the city council knows that because the rag pantograph ran the article ,so the church can not afford to appeal or renovate. The church will say that and my crystal ball says either taxpayers will pay to renovate or pay to purchase. Either way the taxpayer gets the bill.
