Yeah! Another election most voters will sit out

Filing for local councils started yesterday. The election is April 1st and most voters won’t even know about it.

Dan Brady and Cody Hendricks filed for mayor.

If Jenna Kearns decides to run again, she will have a challenger in Ward 1: Benjamin Zimmerman

Sheila Montney is running for re-election in Ward 3.

Mike Straza is running in Ward 5.

Mollie Ward is running for re-election in Ward 7.

Roger Bedeker also filed for Ward 9.

Candidates still have around a week to file so there might be more.

Koos has been on the council since 2001. McCarthy has been on since 2012.

Lorenz has been on since 2015.

The Normal library board has 3 openings with no one filing.
