I filed a FOIA request for video for a random time period. I filed it Friday and got a response today. I assume you are sitting down, if not you need to. Yes, I meant to write 10/28 instead of 11/28:

Unless someone is paid to monitor the video surveillance 24 hours a day, the camera has no purpose.
If someone is watching video and some criminal act is committed, there is nothing the Bloomington Election Commission can do about it because they have no proof without video.
Why does the camera exist if it serves no purpose?
The Bloomington Election Commission is no different than the camera.
Someone should put in their very best “covid facemask” and a pair of dark sunglasses and go spend a few minutes taking pictures or video of the area.

So, It’s allegedly unrecorded? One 32mb memory stick would probably solve that problem. Give them 5 days worth of loop.

Ballots, the most highly treasured of public instruments for demonstrating self determination is being treated with not only contempt by the BEC, but disrespected.
Too many lives have been lost supplying this right to treat it with a box on the side of a building. Where’s the reverence?
Wow. This is incompetence. BEC has to go – there is NO security on the ballot box after all that has been brought to light in the last 4 years ? Malfeasance. plain and simple.
My guess is that it’s a motion activated camera, so it only turns on to record if someone is probably with 15 feet of it. Since the BEC is ran for the City it’s probably in the City network. FOIA them and ask for the camera footage on the corner of that building. Keep it within the past 7 days.
