State Farm predicted the fire risks in California. They canceled 72,000 policies a year ago. That should have been a wake up call for State and City leaders. Obviously it wasn’t. Progressives don’t govern using common sense. Vote for them at your own risk.

Police officers shouldn’t have to fight administration to receive benefits they are entitled to. Will the wake-up call come when many officers quit? I’m sure they can get jobs where they are appreciated.

  1. State Farm…..like a good neighbor……cancelled 72,000 policies
in California for fear of fire losses just like they pulled out of Florida because of hurricane risk. I can see both sides of those moves…..pretty lousy leaving the insured, after paying premiums for years, scrambling for coverage but on the other hand, saving the company money by leaving high risk areas….like a good neighbor!

      1. I know Diane, you’re right but there’s something distasteful about an insurance company taking premiums year after year then cancelling the policy when it becomes risky. I understand why they do, it just doesn’t seem right. Just sayn’

  2. The CA fires are due to bad government at all levels. Politicians and other office holders simply do not care about citizens. The mayor cut the fire department budget by $17 million. The fire chief was hired because she is a lesbian with a DEI agenda….no interest in fighting fires or preparing for them.

  3. State Farm could see that the California government did not care to mitigate known risks. They neglected forest and water management. They knew that this kind of thing happens regularly but, in their vanity, they thought that they could blame climate change or Trump or anything but their own ineptitude for the next disaster.

My guess is that a number of these fires are deliberately set. People who hate America probably have a plan in place for the right time and place. They plan better to destroy than the state does to protect.

Year after year the people of California elect bleeding-heart leftists that don’t have the common sense of a June bug. How many people warned them about their stupidity? Trump did. They ignored all of them.

On top of all that, California probably didn’t listen to State Farm when they were told that they should take care of these things, or they would have to leave. What property insurance company in their right mind would have anything to do with a state that is so epically stupid and doesn’t give a rip about their own citizens? Why should State Farm care if the State of California doesn’t?

It’s very sad what happened but insurance companies shouldn’t even be a part of the discussion on California’s wildfire debacle.

I heard SF is saying they cancelled due to denial of rate increase in CA BUT considering the shady contracts, “Foreign/domestic” consulting “partners and projects in “AI” and “Predictive Modeling” calling it “ Risk Management” and who all is involved its very suspicious.

Globalism and shady data harvesting/analysis is end game and Insurance will dictate everything.

Pricing and claims and project mgt contracts went down a bad road at minimum 10 ago and was allowed to do lots to hurt consumers- a shame

    CEOs love this crap
