Correction to the Bistro Story

Evidently Illinois has a bunch of loopholes that allow THC sales outside of dispensaries! That expensive license dispensaries got from the State and who are heavily taxed aren’t that important:

  1. Severa people in the comment section asking if their 13 year old can come. No answers from Jan yet. Can children be in bars that don’t serve food? Or ones that serve food who have turned off their grills? Can you deny entry based on sexual orientation or preferences? Lots of strong lines set that says just regular gays aren’t welcome let alone straight people. Is that legal? From my understanding, if Jan wants to close her bar for the day for a private event that is legal but denying entry during a normal day is not legal. There’s still more questions on this. The THC thing has a loophole but does the children and entry denying have loopholes? Their safe space can be in Jan’s basement but I don’t know it can be in her highly licensed business.

    1. The Bistro posted the event is 21+, no one under that age allowed. Hopefully most people have enough matters of actual substance going on in their lives such that they do not have to get upset that the local gay bar, a private business, is voluntarily closed for a brief time.

      1. When was that posted? And why did the local gays ask if they could bring their kids if they knew they couldn’t?

      2. Maybe you should tell Jan to update her fliers and answer the “can I bring my 13 year old” questions on her fb page because what you are saying is not true. And by the way, local businesses cannot do whatever they want. I don’t know what makes you think that. What else goes on in The Bistro for you to say such a thing??
