Full Court Press to take your money: Barry Reilly

By: Diane Benjamin

Anyone think schools are pushing too hard for the 1% Sales Tax increase?

Former District 87 superintendent Barry Reilly is heading a committee to convince you to agree to higher taxes.

You need to know Reilly is collecting a HUGE MONTHLY pension:

https://www.openthebooks.com/members/employer-detail/?Id=70989&tab=2&F_Name_P=Reilly&Year_P=0

He is collecting more than $205,000 a year just being a retired government employee in Illinois. Of course Illinois pensions can never be changed because the Illinois Constitution forces you pay for them.

Making minimum wage?

The story gets better though. According to Illinois Sunshine where citizens can easily look up campaign contributions, the Vote Yes for McLean County Schools group has zero dollars. https://www.illinoissunshine.org/committees/40530/

Donations under $1000 don’t have to be reported until AFTER the ELECTION.

So it’s really a secret society hiding who wants your money.

We do know one more thing not in the WGLT story. This guy is helping Barry Reilly raise money:

OfficerTitle
Patrick MainieriTreasurer

Who is he? Look at your ballot for Unit 5:

Since only 3 people are running for 3 seats he doesn’t even have to campaign to get elected,

He’s salivating at all the new money schools will have to spend. All the schools are.

Vote no – just like in 2014.

Until pensions are reformed (which will be never) schools will NEVER have enough money.

  1. In other news, everyone should view the video of SF VP Haden Fitzpatrick talking about the Palisades fire and future hiring practices at the company. It can be viewed on OMG News or InfoWars.

    1. I saw that mentioned in a comment on the Mediaite website the other day and that was the only time I read about it. It does seem it might be true then again who knows it might be an AI generated video.
As far as the CA fires yeah I would have to agree. I watched 2 vlogs by Adam Carolla where he went back to his condo along PCH and drove thru the area. Why it was ever allowed to build like that is beyond me. He doubted if many homes would be rebuilt along the shoreline like they once were. If they did the cost would be huge to meet the current codes. Many insurance payouts wouldn’t even be enough to rebuild. Then again they are nuts out there.

      1. Missing the point of my post. Good that SF fired this Fitzpatrick jerk. The interview wasn’t AI generated. OMG does these interviews all the time to out bums like this guy. His attitude towards policyholders was beyond disgusting. Also, he let it be known that in the future, white guys need not apply at SF, only minorities. If SF thought Cali was loaded with risk, they shouldn’t have sold policies there in the first place, even if it’s a haven for nut cases. I would expect people in BN to have this reaction though. No wonder the place is falling apart.

        1. Yes I just saw where SF terminated the executive. Hilarious FAFO example.
Good L0rd why would someone say things like that knowing it could be recorded.
Then again when I worked there and saw the many reason why employess got terminated for their own fault I’m not surprised.

        2. I believe he referred to all races (white, women, etc) probably included too. I’m seeing this happen already in B-N and Illinois universities, insurance orgs and recruiting systems (DEI and hiring bias/affirmative action) “data analytics” and algorithms used hiring workflows/process to exclude MANY demographics and folks that apply. HRIS and HCM and Human Resources and Risk Management has gone to the dogs…(highly paid elite club members) or alumni.

So has insurance industry – Central Illinois especially. Proven fact. Proven bias and exclusion of certain criteria calling it AI and efficiency in hiring.

SF was trying to put all hispanics mostly in call centers over 5 years ago and worse with the systematic methods used now.

The great replacement theory (2040)…Its all illegal.

  2. I’m hoping with DOGE at the federal level people will finally start to say “NO” to anymore taxes after hearing how tax money is being wasted. Trust me it occurs in these school districts also. Convince me otherwise!

My barber and I had a discussion about school taxes one morning. I told him when I was in school back in the 60’s and 70’s schools got less funding and students got a better education. That is not the case today. Now the test scores are lower and they can’t ever be satisfied with the funding they get. Always wanting more, more, more.

I couldn’t wait to mail back my ballot with a black dot next to “NO” .

Ever wonder why IL is so far in debt. Look at that pension. The courts have ruled before if the money isn’t there in other states they have to take a pension reduction. The state legislature and I don’t recall what year it was enacted they put a salary percentage increase limit on to keep them from balloning their salary before they retired. What they did to get around that was ask for increases in benefits such as vacation time and health care and that dollar amount factored into their pension as I recall.

    1. Filling out my ballot now!
I am 59. We were not coddled in school. If we got in trouble at school you knew you were getting in trouble at home. You just did not act up in school. Sass your teacher, not a chance. I’ve worked at BHS in the early 90’s. The lack of respect was starting then. I did not tolerate it.
What’s changed? Higher divorce rates meaning single parents who have to work. They don’t have the involvement in schools like they used to have. They just don’t have the time. The belief that you have to be your kids’ friend took over. Guilt at not having time with them is the culprit. There is no accountability for kids. I encountered parents who blamed us for what their kids did. There was no winning with that attitude.
I was blessed to stay home with our kids. I worked in their classrooms and helped with events. Our home was where their friends gathered after school. I miss the chaos! We never regretted that time.
